Summary

Data is BD’s strategic asset, generating a tremendous amount of future value by driving competitive advantages and inspire future innovations. Sr. Manager data governance will have combine accountability and responsibility for data governance, data quality and data life cycle management, along with the exploitation of data assets to create business value. This role provides a vision and strategy for all Supply chain master data management activities as well as being a champion for global governance and data quality across various functions. The candidate should have knowledge and very good understanding of latest technology, future trends and assist in evaluating best practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and operationalize a master data governance framework and establish a governance council

  • Drive overall EDM strategy in the context of data governance

  • Develop and maintain a master data and meta data/business rule catalog for the Global supply chain

  • Lead implementation of standard processes and procedures to minimize the risk to data integrity, as well as define remediation plans to mitigate known data risks

  • Act as a subject matter expert, leading the way in data discovery, both proactively and by request, to identify key insights and trends to help drive strategic recommendations

  • Build the capability to allow fully traceability of Master Data, specifically where it is sourced and authored from Business and Function stand-point

  • Partner with IT and businesses and drive master data-related projects and initiatives

  • Implement KPI’s to measure data quality, effectiveness of Master data management activities

  • Educate Data Stewards & Data Custodians their ownership of the data and maintaining data quality

  • Identify CI opportunities and design new processes

  • Oversee data integrity and work with IT and other functions to resolve issues

  • Communicate and present findings to the senior leadership in Supply Chain

  • Experience in defining, designing and implementing innovative solutions

  • 5 – 10% travel may be required

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science/Business related fields. Post-graduate degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years of experience in EDM management, data governance management required

  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply chain

  • 3-5 years of experience in ERP platforms (SAP/JDE etc.)

  • Strong understanding of the supply chain related master data and E2E processes

  • Knowledge an full understanding of supply chain related key master data fields, E2E usage and its impact on business outcome

  • Ability to Influence without authority within and across various Business areas and functions

  • Detail oriented, highly organized and good interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated customer centric focus and global orientation

  • Ability to quickly understand and analyze data

  • Excellent communication skills

  • PMP desired but not required
