JOB SUMMARY :

Reporting to the BU President, the Vice President of Business Process is accountable for the overall performance of all business processes, process governance, and the Business Process network for MDS. Focuses on organization effectiveness through process excellence. Provides leadership oversight to ensure the process operating model drives integrated performance while meeting customer expectations. Collaborates with functional and business leaders to drive performance improvement through systemic process excellence – key focus areas include Customer Experience, Service level, Quality, Solutions and Innovation. Accountable for conceptualizing and executing a roadmap to build organization capabilities around business continuity and operational excellence. Leads change management efforts to ensure stabilization and sustainability of ERP systems.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Establishes strategic change management solutions and plays a leadership role in navigating the process of becoming a customer-centric organization, coordinating efforts across internal boundaries.

  • Leads and leverages across boundaries in MDS - functions, business, region, departments. Identifies strategic priorities (arising out of Voice of Associates survey, XLT), eg Customer Experience, Service level, Quality, Solutions, Innovation. Uses systems thinking to create a sustainable organization.

  • Effectively facilitates the flow of new business opportunities through the organization, balancing the needs of the core business with innovation.

  • Builds a robust collaboration network globally for learnings and ideas as well as to ensure an on-going review of regional requirements and the alignment to BU and/or global functional processes.

  • Establishes connections (processes and people) to the broader BDX from Customer Experience CX perspective.

  • Establishes programs and initiatives to effectively leverage various operating models with system functionality and optimize BD’s Enterprise landscape. Specifically BD’s enterprise SAP platforms and transitional work processes coupled with re-engineering work processes.

  • Shapes and transforms the organizational capabilities as it relates to business process integrated thinking through the Process Network. Responsible for establishing skill and competency requirements aligned to the business process and the ERP business model framework. Responsible for leveraging best practices (global, business, functional) across the business units to achieve a sustainable operating model.

  • Drives and coordinates the development of efficient end to end work processes to drive business strategies across BDDS platforms.

  • Drives cross process portfolio governance to prioritize work effort and maximize outcomes. Ensures the implementation of standard tools and methodologies.

  • Develops, manages, and promotes Continuous Improvement initiatives to restructure work flows utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, and Manufacturing Execution Systems, coupled with systems (SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceMax). Accountable for establishing common business processes, tools and system configuration to deliver value for customers while meeting BD financial goals.

  • Drives the inclusion of change adoption models to cascade process understanding and communication for initiatives that have significant amounts of organizational change.

  • Effectively facilitates talent management. Demonstrates constructive challenge, strong coaching capabilities and succession planning, promotes diversity and inclusion.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated BD Leadership Standard behaviors and strong business knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate, consult, and/or lead teams and drive for results in a matrixed global environment. Ability to collaborate and navigate through all levels of the organization to influence outcomes.

  • Proven track record in leading change and achieving results.

  • Systems thinking approach for effective problem solving required. Process orientation skills ensuring a high chance of success at clear, attainable, well-established outcomes. Ability to improve performance within the organization to attain efficiency while delivering excellent output against definitive metrics.

  • Extensive knowledge of Business Process Management and Enterprise systems. (ERP, Sales and Service systems)

  • Customer focus – ability to understand customer and stakeholder needs (internal and external) and transform them into solutions that create value for customers and stakeholders.

  • Strategic Thinking – effective at integrating and balancing short and long-term opportunities and challenges to achieve positive business outcomes.

  • Strong development focus - Demonstrated experience promoting and developing diverse talent. Must actively promote inclusion as a critical component of overall talent agenda.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics or related degree. MBA or advanced degree highly preferred

  • Minimum 8-10 years of business experience.

  • Practicing experience with Enterprise Systems (ERP systems - SAP, Salesforce)

  • Demonstrated knowledge required in Lean Enterprise and Six Sigma, certification highly preferred.

  • Experience in a leadership role implementing large-scale change.

  • Respected thought leader with organizational credibility.
