Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing and directing the Calibration Lab within the quality organization. Also responsible for managing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Process.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads and manages all elements of the Calibration System an administers the PM system. Examples include:

  • Oversees and facilitates scheduling and calibration for all Measuring, Inspection & Test Equipment currently in or entering the Calibration System in accordance with related GMP/QSR and ISO requirements.

  • Maintains Calibration Documentation/Records and Electronic Scheduling Systems (Blue Mountain).

  • Oversees and facilitates scheduling of PM’s throughout the plant.

  • Maintains and manages the MP2 (PM System) or equivalent.

  • Manages department budget with financial metrics and goals to ensure month to month accuracy (BVR), with responsibility for developing and implementing annual capital equipment replacement plan.

  • Utilizes leaderships skills to coordinate and provide technical support for multiple projects to achieve on-time results.

  • Maintains department metrics to ensure continuous improvement within the Calibration system. Participates in the facility’s Quality and Management Systems.

  • Evaluates team performance and provide team and individuals with effective and appropriate feedback.

  • Develops personnel for advancement to the next level within the organization.

  • Recommends Measurement, Inspection & Test Equipment for process controls to ensure product conformance to specification.

  • Supports the Development and qualification of tooling and test fixtures for Measurement, Inspection & Test Equipment systems.

  • Trouble-shoots processes, equipment, and systems. Develops and implements corrective actions as applicable.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years Supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing setting, plus

  • Minimum of two (2) years proven understanding and experience of Quality Systems, GMP/QSR, and ISO Medical Device Manufacturing Regulations.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e., up to 50 lbs.).

Work Environment:

Primarily split between an office environment and the manufacturing floor. May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes, requiring some precaution. Some minor inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.).

Training Requirements:

On-the-Job, SOP’s required for position and GMP.
