Job Description Summary

The Manger, WW Supply Planning develops strong working relationships with global planners and drives key production planning decisions as an advocate for the Greater Asia market. The Manger, WW Supply Planning represents the Greater Asia region and bridges the information flow between the Greater Asia market and WW planners on key supply issues including the timeliness of product delivery and consistency in source of supply, ensuring that Greater Asia demand is fulfilled from the relevant global sources of supply. This is achieved through active monitoring of, and timely intervention in, the global master scheduling process, which determines the timetable for the manufacturing of products in all global plants, as well as the global allocation of production outputs to WW markets. The Manger, WW Supply Planning also collaborates with global supply sites to ensure replenishment requirements are met, resolve supply issues and manage backorders.

The Manger, WW Supply Planning is responsible for the maintenance of appropriate inventory levels for the Greater Asia region taking into consideration replenishment requirements in order to meet Regional service level requirements. To fulfill these obligations, he/she is responsible for overseeing the development of a supply plan or master production schedule with the respective source / target Distribution Centers (DC) and ensures timely network supply from various sources to the Regional DC. The Manger, WW Supply Planning is looking into delivering cost effective supply chain solutions by supporting Supply Chain cost improvement programs working with the different Supply Chain stakeholders. He / she is also in charge of engaging, developing and retaining the MDS supply chain planning team in India. He / she is the MDS support of the Apex model in Asia, making sure we are complying with the process and documentation requirements.

Job Description

Supply Planning

  • Performs supply/demand balancing for the Asian region manufacturing plants at regular intervals and analyzes variances of actual demand/supply to forecast and budgeted figures

  • Responsible for leading the Regional Supply Review for Asia MPS. Identifying and escalating issues which cannot be resolved to the WW MDS Supply Review and other relevant forums

  • Manages and oversees supply planning process for all MDS manufacturing facilities within Asia

  • Monitors and takes measures to resolve planning issues related to changes in the manufacturing process within the Asian plants

  • Develops and maintains technical expertise in all aspects of the planning systems

  • Achieves a partnership with the business units served through intelligent engagement in the supply planning process

  • Demonstrates an understanding of production capabilities, processes and capital requirements of WW supply plants

  • Maintains formal documented processes which are accepted, understood, and approved with clearly defined accountabilities, business processes, expected outputs and KPIs

  • Responsible for developing necessary skill competencies including SAP/SCM/BI, inventory planning, alert management and the ability to conduct dynamic planning based on changes in supply & demand

  • Achieve key metrics for Asia Pacific region:

  • line fill rate target

  • % of $ on backorder target

  • Plant FERT Inventory Targets

  • As part of the WW MPS team, supports the WW business goals and strategies, including the long-range budget and capacity planning while also aligning and supporting Regional objectives

  • Leads the Asia Pacific Supply Review coordinating all sites producing within the Region as well as all MPS products supplied into the Region Inventory Planning

  • Leads the team members which act as inventory planners for US portfolios (sold in US through 3 Distribution Centers) manufactured in Asia Pacific region – Eclipse, Insyte

  • Ensure that his/her team provides 24 month replenishment plan to Global Planners of AP manufacturing sites to include in their 24 month manufacturing plan

  • Active engagement in the S&OP process to remain updated on factors that may impact the portfolio in US region

  • Leading the discussions around inventory build-up, recovery plans, demand outlook, scenario planning etc. related to portfolios in scope Change to Win:

  • Lead a portfolio of Cost Improvement projects to deliver around $150k-$200k saving every year

  • Projects include projects with Regional MPS scope or Global MPS Scope

People Management:

  • Manage a team of WW Supply Planners based out of India

  • Increase the people engagement, develop the team and stabilize the organization

  • Lead annual performance review of the team, Career planning etc. Functional Competencies:

  • Skilled and capable in the use of SCM and SAP as a tool in developing appropriate inventory levels and net replenishment requirements to achieve targeted inventory and customer service levels

  • Understanding of market served (country, region, global) and its demand volatility affected by market place events such as tender, competitor actions, etc.

  • Manage and own key master data residing in system and understand the effects on planning models

  • Assist in the SC optimization efforts related to inventory stocking policy

  • Initiate and implement inventory models to determine impact on the performance of the supply chain – cost and service

  • An understanding/integration of Sales and Marketing efforts, for example: product knowledge, new product introductions, product discontinuation, promotional activities, etc.

  • Knowledge of I.T. processes and how they affect the supply chain function; Ability to leverage I.T. resources effectively to further improve processes and outcomes

  • Knowledge of the 5 step S&OP Process with specific awareness of dependent activities within the S&OP cycle that affect the supply chain manager's functional area and how this area can impact the successful execution of the business strategy through the S&OP process

  • General understanding of production planning, capabilities, capacities and product flow in a manufacturing site

  • Managerial skill

  • CI cultural mentality Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in an automated ERP environment (SAP preferred)

  • Use of SCM tools and proficient in all aspects of use of this system

  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Power Point and Word Education:

  • University degree preferred in a relevant discipline

  • APICS certification is an asset

  • Green Belt / lean certification is a plus
