As Diagnostic Solution Expert Lab Automation (Field) you will be the Application Specialist responsible for the implementation of Lab Automation solutions within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). Areas of work include, but are not limited to providing workshops, technical demonstrations, configuration support, LIS/workflow connectivity testing, customer training and validation and go live support. As a Diagnostic Solution Expert you will closely collaborate with the Project Manager, Informatics Specialist, Sales, Service, and other members of the Customer & Workflow Solutions team to execute a comprehensive project plan and ensure a smooth and efficient implementation at the customer site. The role focuses on solution implementation and optimization of lab processes and workflow by using various methods. An ideal candidate has the potential to support pre-sales activities, by designing the ideal customer end-to-end solution, based on observations of customer workflows and needs.
Other Key Responsibilities:
Work together with the Project Manager to understand current and future customer needs and identify implementation risks, if any
Responsible for the execution of the workflow related implementation deliverables aligned with the planning agreements
Deliver workshops to engage the product end-users and prepare them for their new way of working
Secure unbeatable customer experience during implementation and go-live
Configure and test the BD Kiestra™ Lab Automation solution, including BD Synapsys™, and related data,- and workflow to the customer’s existing and unique laboratory/LIS setting and workflows
Train Key users in the daily usage of the BD Kiestra™ Lab Automation Solution and empower them to train users via Trainer the Trainer principle
Provide support during validation and go live project phase
Troubleshoot and resolve minor Lab Automation product issues, escalate to the regional team if required
Support the customer in key process improvement engagements as identified in the solution design (workflow optimization, process re-design, lean lab design).
Participate in regular internal and external project team meetings
Drive internal process excellence through identifying and supporting targeted continuous improvement projects
About You:
Bachelor degree in the Life Science, clinical or other relevant technical area is preferred
Proficient German and English skills are a must, additional languages are a benefit
Will have at least 3-5 years within microbiology laboratory experience and knowledge in bacterial identification
Basic knowledge of IT architecture and solid understanding of information/data management systems and interfaces with LIS
Ability and willingness to travel within the GSA and EMEA region at least 75% of the time
You enjoy (and have experience in) providing training and guiding the customer, and are not afraid to troubleshoot real time
You are commercial savvy and comfortable working independently as well as you like working within a wide spread team
