Job Description Summary

Are you a fast learner, seeking new challenges and professional development? In this marketing role, you will be responsible for managing a specific part of the BD Preanalytical Systems portfolio. The essential function of it is to champion product management of the Containment Preanalytical Systems Portfolio. This role also includes driving of core strategic initiatives in order to help the European Region achieve the desired financial performance. One of essential facets of the role is to collaborate cross-functionally across the regional team, to engage with country marketing teams, and to coordinate specific activities with a global organization.

Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide input on the related portfolio to the regional strategic plan, annual budget and marketing plan development

  • In conjunction with the country product managers, develop market-specific strategies and tactics, while providing clear direction on the relevant value and product positioning to drive category share gains

  • Support the implementation of the European product portfolio strategies, including pricing, positioning and product promotion

  • Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence database for a related product range. Develop and support market research activities (e.g., Voice of Customer) and Post Market Surveillance studies

  • Strengthen expert market knowledge in terms of quantitative data (e.g. market data, market trends, competitor pricing) and qualitative data (e.g. customer needs, competitor activities, plans, technologies and applications). Recommend suitable actions to maximise opportunities and minimise potential threats to the portfolio in scope

  • Provide detailed monthly business commentary on business performance of the relevant product families

  • Monitor SFDC funnel and reports. In collaboration with sales effectiveness / pricing team, contribute to launch dashboard updates, as appropriate

  • Support accurate forecasting process by aligning regional monthly demand, and work on annual long-term manufacturing forecast. Monitor and correct product demand for capacity planning, and life-cycle management initiatives

  • Manage product life-cycle, including product recalls and field corrective actions. Ensure timely and informative communication to country teams and their customers, respectively

  • Provide product training for the portfolio at hand. Support the Field Sales team with product information and necessary updates. Contribute to product training initiatives, as appropriate

  • Keep product information depository regularly updated. Develop and maintain comprehensive product information files / database to ensure sources of reference for all relevant product technical enquires, supporting BD to be well-positioned to meet technical requirements of tenders

  • Adapt, develop and implement new product launch programs and campaigns, aligning with market-specific strategies and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders

  • Work with MARCOM COE on the development and production of promotional materials / marketing collateral (digital and traditional) and tools, which deliver key messages, positioning and reflect brand essence

  • Effectively collaborate with the European marketing team to ensure an integrated and differentiated approach to build solutions throughout the PAS portfolio in a customer-centric way. This includes timely engagement of clinical, regulatory, supply chain and other relevant functions. Contribute to BDX projects, as appropriate

  • Evaluate and develop Key Opinion Leader (KOL) plan in conjunction with a Clinical team to ensure strategic alignment and common communication

  • Conduct regular customer visits to develop awareness of the key market requirements / customer unmet needs

Skills and Competencies

  • Fast learner with can-do attitude, able to work at high pace on tasks of varying complexity; we are looking for someone able to develop into a brand champion

  • With deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs, and of the principles of marketing. Capable of determining value-proposition and value offer for solutions in specific customer segments

  • An analytically minded person, with rigour working with numeric and qualitative data types. Ability to work on forecasting and business cases modelling

  • A team player, who thrives working in dynamic environments and builds on strengths of peers. Ability to lead in matrix setups

  • Successful experience in campaign development and management of relationship with MARCOM COE / Agency management

  • Strong communicator, able to deliver messages across the organization and to customers

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent

  • Experience within medical devices, laboratory, clinical practice and or broader healthcare environment

  • Strong, proven marketing experience in increasingly responsible positions in marketing. Strategic outlook and demonstrated success in launching new products

  • Knowledge of the European market preferred

  • Fluent English and additional European languages would be an advantage

  • PC Literate, intermediate level in Excel / Word / PowerPoint etc.

Complexity of Duties:

  • Able to work on complex issues and tasks, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of business, industry and European markets

  • Ensures budgets and schedules to meet business requirements

  • Position can be based in Nyon, Switzerland, or can be based in another location in Europe as a remote job. If based in Nyon, approximately 40% of work time is anticipated for travel. If based in Europe, frequent travel to Eysins will be additionally required.
