Reporting to: European Leader for Sales & Application - LifeScience/Genomics.
The person in this role will be responsible for the sales of BD Genomics products, the qualification of the marketing derived leads by inside sales activities (telephony). The person in this role will be responsible for working directly with marketing, field sales and customers to generate, qualify, and nurture existing sales leads/opportunities.
He/She will work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in making proper product recommendations and in resolving customer issues.
The person will also be the responsible point of contact for the on-boarding activities of the Genomics products and instruments for new customers by a concierge-like activities. The person can be office or home office based.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish friendly relations with customers and maintain ongoing relations with the customers.
Coordinate on-boarding activities – PO execution, installation and customer training coordination.
Be first PoC for all customer requests in the initial onboarding phase.
Check installation readiness on site
Follow-up and consult with the customer throughout their first investigation cycle, ensure that all supporting functions are timely and in place.
You will take full responsibility for responding to and following up on leads generated through marketing programs, trade show attendance and inbound customer requests. You will be required to understand the needs and expectations of the customers and provide relevant solutions. Identify and monitor existing opportunities in the sales funnel that require nurturing and provide appropriate follow-up. Furthermore duties include:
Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of genomics applications, products and associated maintenance contracts.
Manage the database of potential customers/CRM and contact them regularly.
Work closely with the outside sales colleagues to ensure smooth lead transfer and follow up.
Analyze the choices and financial capacities of every customer/potential customer and suggest suitable products.
The successful candidate will be/have:
Degree qualified ideally, from a Scientific background.
Impressive personality and ability to convince the clients by planning attractive quotations for them.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with high level of confidence.
Ability to interact at many levels within an organization, internal and external.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written skills.
Creative thinker and should possess ability to resolve critical problems.
You will have good organisational skills and management skills and be able to multitask. You will be results oriented and believe in team work. You will be PC literate, skilled in Microsoft suite including Word, PowerPoint and Excel and be competent with SAP/Salesforce. Any working knowledge or experience with genomic applications such as gene expressions, mutation anbalysis or other forms of genomic sample prep/library prep PCR, qPCR and digital PCR would be beneficial, not essential.
Fluency in English is a must and any other European language will be a distinct advantage.
