Job Description Summary

The Site Service Delivery (SSD) team is responsible for all IT Infrastructure and IT Service Delivery. The SSD team is the gatekeeper / interface between the BD internal Business Partners, Business Functions, IT Global Infrastructure Towers and the Suppliers / Vendors servicing BD with IT services, operations, and technical project execution. Any IT technical aspects, one-time efforts, or long-term service establishment to the business, is being addressed by the SSD groups. The SSD team owns related Project Management, Project Execution, Communications Management as well as Risk and Issue Management.

Job Description

The Infrastructure Support Engineer is interfacing with BP’s, IT Partners, BD IT SME’s, and Global IT Tower peers to conduct and collaborate on small, medium and large Business Projects in close partnership with BD IT suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop a deep knowledge of BD business functions for the assigned BD sites, including key driver goals, short and long-term roadmaps, key projects, and personnel

  • Act as an interface between business teams, global infrastructure, change management, and technology support teams

  • Manage communication of change implementations and service impacts

  • Provide an escalation point for when service levels are missed or at risk and coordinate resolution of issues with infrastructure, change, and support teams

  • Deliver locality specific solutions required by the business

  • Oversees projects and portfolio and technical aspects for project assessment, design, planning, execution

  • Provide program and project management services across all technology towers

  • Work with other TGS business partner teams and external partner teams to define, document, analyze and prioritize existing and emerging business requirements

  • Complete the projects/improvements/deliverables needed to implement technology, processes, or services to meet BD business requirements including documentation, testing and implementation

  • Apply comprehensive understanding of concepts within own technical area to design relatively advanced solutions; demonstrates understanding of key business drivers

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Strong track record in an IT role, with focus on IT Infrastructure support

  • Experience working with outsourced providers

  • Experience in working with geographically distributed team members / virtual collaboration

  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting technical issues

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills

  • Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure and IT Security

  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies

  • Familiarity using Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, O365, MS Azure, SharePoint, OneDrive, Active Directory, Messaging, DNS, Site & Services, Group Policies and Security groups, Cisco technologies

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels – Fluent English and at least conversational German

  • Self-motivated and high degree of dependability: take ownership of tasks and get things done

  • The role is hybrid with 50% remote from Germany, but requires additionally willingness to travel up to 10-20% within Europe
