Job Description Summary

BD Diagnostics is a leading provider in innovative medical technologies delivering value to customers globally across the HealthCare sector. The LEAN Microbiology Consultant GSA will engage throughout the customer lifecycle for the BD Kiestra platform providing customized solution design, lean workflow optimization and key outcomes measurement for targeted accounts. The LEAN Microbiology Consultant (m/f/i) GSA plays a key role in enabling customers to achieve an optimized integrated solution combining leading edge technology with best in class processes. Through collaboration with the Sales, Marketing, Scientific and Services teams the consultant will demonstrate improvements in patient care, quality and staff utilization resulting from the BD Microbiology Total Automation Solution.

Job Description

About the role

  • Lead targeted BD Kiestra sales opportunities to design a total automation solution including multiple BD platforms and products

  • Support the customer in key process improvement engagements as identified in the solution design (workflow optimization, process re-design, lean lab design)

  • Engage customer stakeholders to gather pre/post metrics to assess the improvement on Time to Result, Quality, Staff Efficiency and Cost

  • Support the development of Customer Centers of Excellence, Key Outcome Studies and Publication of results

  • Drive internal process excellence through identifying and leading targeted continuous improvement projects across business functions (R&D, Procurement, Service, IT, Manufacturing)

  • Support the development of standardized processes/tools and provide training for the global lab automation business

About You

You have a college (BSc) or lab technology degree in either Health Sciences or Engineering disciplines and furthermore a minimum of 5 years’ experience in application support or consulting for the Laboratory and Hospital Sector.

Additionally, you have min. 5 years’ experience in clinical microbiology, capital equipment support and clinical microbiology automation as well as experience in either healthcare consulting, Lean Six Sigma Consulting or Project management in the healthcare sector.

Further requirements are:

  • Highly analytical and ability to use data and metrics to drive customer and internal performance

  • Ability to work effectively across business silos and with different levels in an organization

  • Exceptional communication skills, experience in training and facilitation required

  • Strong process/project management and IT background considered an asset

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt and PM Certification an asset

  • Fluency in German and English
