You are part of the quality control (QC) team of the BD production plant in Heidelberg where we produce plated and liquid media for microbial diagnostics. The QC team is responsible for raw material release, final product and shelf-life testing, product release as well as environmental and water monitoring.
As QC engineer you will lead and support various improvement projects, perform investigations in case of lab or material issues and support the lab head as deputy.
We prefer part-time applications (min. 50%) but are open for full-time as well.

Job Description
The tasks and responsibilities are
Lead and support improvements projects regarding the systems used in the lab such as electronic batch record review, test method or equipment improvements, or projects resulting from changes (change management) or CAPAs
Performing investigations and root cause analyses for lab and material issues of raw material or final products (Deviation-/OOS process)
Set and track QC related KPIs
Perform periodic trend analysis and corrective action effectiveness measures and identify opportunities for improvement.
Creation and review of work instructions and procedural instructions (SOPs)
Act as backup/substitute for batch record and product release (SAP)
Support customer and notified body audits
Act as a deputy for the lab head
About You
You have a university degree in natural science (e.g. food technology, microbiology, biotechnology), engineering (e.g. pharmaceutical or process engineering) or a related field of study and professional experience in the field of Quality.
Further requirements are
Good knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485 / ISO 17025, IVDR or MDR
Understanding of quality systems regulations and regulated environments
Good understanding of microbiological test methods, root cause analysis process and statistical tools
Very good knowledge of the common Microsoft software applications (e.g. Excel, Word, Power Point), knowledge of SAP (desirable) and ability to learn other systems.
Ability to prepare and present data and their presentation and documentation
You are self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
Fluency in German and English is a must
