The Lab Automation Consultant is responsible for the sales of lab automation solutions for microbiology laboratories in the assigned market area (Nordrhein-Westfalen) for the Acute Care as well as Private lab customer segment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for drafting and executing a sales plan and annual budget based on the sales policy. You identify and develop new business in close cooperation with the DS Sales- and Account Manager in your region. Furthermore, you expand the automation degree at existing lab automation accounts through additional equipment or new developments.

Additional areas of responsibility are:

  • Consultation of the customer on the optimal solution based on his needs, furthermore selling the importance of change management when implementing the lab automation solution

  • Performing and/or analyzing the Automation Impact Analysis (AIA)

  • Consultancy to identify the laboratory performance and possibilities to improve efficiency and quality

  • Developing Business Cases in close cooperation with the potential client

  • Drafting quotation proposals and negotiate towards an agreement

  • Participation at exhibitions, seminars and visits to reference laboratories

  • Attending project review meetings with the Business Director and the European Product Manager

  • Close collaboration with the whole DS team, e.g. application, project management, sales, technical service, etc.

  • Travelling within the territory, but also within Europe for trainings in the Netherlands and reference customer visits in Europe

About You

You have a bachelor or master degree in microbiology as well as first experience in capital equipment sales and the strategic selling approach. Furthermore, you have strong professional communication skills and experience with board level negotiations.

Further requirements are:

  • excellent business development skills and proven leadership skills to drive solutions,

  • passion for customer & relationship management,

  • ability to understand and communicate effectively with individuals from a broad range of business and technical disciplines and an ability to influence these groups to achieve the objectives, both externally and internally,

  • ability to work effectively both as a member and leader of multi-functional teams,

  • proactive, rigorous, pragmatic, organizational savvy, action orientated with a strong drive for results,

  • comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty,

  • fluent in German and English, French is an advantage.
