06 MACHINE ATTENDANT

JOB SUMMARY

Assist teams in the production of high quality and low cost molded components.

Molding associate is responsible for helping in all areas of molding. Their primary responsibility is for making sure that their areas and machines are safe and clean, learning and developing confidence in the molding quality processes, defects and equipment, performing routine inspections on molded components, correctly filling out documentation, use of computers, performing material handling duties as needed, and the capability to stop and start machines correctly.

ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

Operate and assist with the operation of large equipment. Monitor, mix or move materials and molded components. Complete paperwork and calculations as needed. Perform maintenance and cleaning as needed. Clean conveyors and parts separators at least once each shift. Verify and ensure that all equipment is cleaned and working properly. Understand and be familiar with all product defects, standards, specifications and procedures in order to perform proper and required inspections, mold approvals, rejections and set up of gages and leak testing. Monitor quality of molded components and ensure that all necessary actions are taken for defective product (staging, disposition, blocking cavities and transactions). Check for proper identification materials, components and batch numbers. Monitor the Conair system and material granulators including changing and cleaning filters on vacuum pumps and hopper filters each shift. Report issues to the Processor Assist the Processor in pull/sets of the molding tools, etc. Assist setting up conveyors, scales, granulators and separation equipment. Stack tubbed/boxed product on pallets according to proper procedures. Perform and assist with necessary color changes and changeover procedures. Respond to alarms. Change and clean line and surge bin filters. Handle and store purgings. Recycle components. Remove runner balls. Complete SAP transactions. Assist with training new associates. Must maintain regular, punctual attendance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma/GED required

Experience

No related experience required

Previous molding and/or inspection experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Able to provide supportive/accurate communication between shifts.
