BD helps customers enhance outcomes, lower costs, increase efficiencies, improve safety and expand access to health care. bd.com Responsible to serve as the shift start up facilitator, handle resource and product scheduling, assure associates are adequately trained, assist in continuous improvement efforts and provide direction for associates in assigned area(s). Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to speak, read and write English. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Essential Functions: include, but are not limited to: Monitors team members to ensure compliance to all documents. Provides work direction to associates in assigned area(s). Directs training for associates in their assigned area(s). Responsible for all process documentation accuracy, completion and handoff. Sets work assignment/direction of associates at shift change or as needed. The Line Lead will interact with other Line Leads and associates on the respective/adjoining shifts to share best practices, create standardization, and ensure a smooth transition between shifts. Line Leads are required to work a schedule that allows for this to occur seamlessly. Responds when an issue is identified, leads the root cause and corrective action investigation as needed, and escalates as required. Enables the development and training of associates by responding to requests and department needs. Assists with changes to Standard Work instructions. Proactively works to anticipate problems before they impact production. Champions process improvements and ensures that changes associated with Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are implemented consistently in their area. In the absence/shortage of available floaters, must have knowledge of and be able to perform efficiently all department operations as requested including, but not limited to, machine operations, salvage operations, utility, inspection, packaging, warehouser, material handler and sterilization operator. Must obtain necessary certifications within one (1) year. Duties include coverage of operations from Packager to Setup Operator as requested/needed. Assists team leader and manager with meeting department safety and production goals. Identify and correct any conditions compromising the safety of any associate. Ensure a clean, safe environment. Ensure an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management. Represents concerns of associates to management, as well as management concerns to associates. Accessible to associates in assigned area(s). Works with Team Leader to hold associates accountable for results, including: + safety + quality + operational Supports management and its policies as well as associates. Champions safety. Champions quality. Helps ensure regulatory compliance. Leads by example. Regular, punctual attendance. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent required Vocation/Tech or Associates degree preferred EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE Minimum of 2 year’s experience in assigned area(s) and previous leadership experience required. + well-developed verbal and written communication skills; + strong facilitation skills; + proven time management skills; + proven problem solving and decision-making skills; + week-developed analytical and strategic thinking skills; + strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
