Job Description Summary

This role is to ensure that the accounts of the businesses in GSA are maintained, controlled and reported accurately and efficiently with cost effective processes and to provide effective business partnering to the Country Managers and commercial management of the Business. To ensure that all reporting units in GSA report actual, forecast and planning data accurately and on time and that required consolidates reports are subsequently prepares and sent accurately and on time. Furthermore, this role ensures that the office administration for the GSA team is managed in compliance with local legal requirements.

The position is limited to 2 years.

About the role

You will act a trusted business partner and an active voice on the management team as well as actively support the Controller GSA and the Country Sales Managers in the preparation of forecast and planning information. You will provide ad hoc Business analysis to the local Sales team and will proactively involve in business development activities.

You will manage the accounting of the business to ensure that the results are accurately accounted for and reported on time in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory accounting/reporting requirements. In addition, you will manage the GSA Organization including local legal requirements and ensure all statutory reports, including annual accounts and VAT, are reported accurately and on time.

Further responsibilities are:

  • Provide insightful analytics, reports and commercial input into sales analyses, pricing reviews, customer agreements, contracts, tenders and other commercial activities

  • Manage the relationships with internal and external auditors, local service providers and banks

  • Ensure that all relevant accounting and FCPA controls are operated effectively throughout the Business, including the maintenance and testing of Sarbanes-Oxley and FCPA controls

  • Actively manage all expenses, ensuring compliance with all procedures and ensuring optimal cost saving or allocation of resources. Ensure that all payments like payroll and Accounts Payable are transacted via local bank in time

  • Lead projects to improve the efficiency and promote standardization of back office processes across the Business

  • Manage ad hoc projects under the direction of the manager

  • Manage and motivate direct reports and their team of professionals

  • Prioritizing a wide range of activities with differing degrees of urgency

  • Influencing others to manage actively and resolve quickly issues to tight deadlines

About you

You are a qualified accountant with >10 years work experience, a strong understanding of accounting, controls and processes as well as proven experience in the management of Accounts Receivable and Inventory. You provide demonstrated leadership, project management and business partner support as well as an advanced business acumen with ability to plan, analyze and forecast sales results.

You have a strong understanding of local statutory labour requirements and a deep prior knowledge of local statutory accounts and US GAAP.

Further requirements are:

  • Fluent in German and English

  • Excellent communications, technical and presentation skills

  • Computer skills: advanced with Microsoft Office and familiar with the use of ERPs

  • Strong customer focus, organizational and strategic agility as well as strong negotiation skills
