About the role

The Quality Engineer (m/w/d) - CAPA drives activities and procedures associated with CAPA and other Quality tasks concerning BD Rowa products. This position actively oversees and controls CAPAs through closure and supports the manager in achieving a high-quality standard. This person ensures thorough investigation of CAPAs, the implementation of the corrective and preventive actions and closure of the CAPA when actions proved to be effective.

This job also includes a variety of mechanical and functional product evaluations related to the investigation of CAPAs.


You are driving investigations related to non-conformities and complaints, trending of same and assessing need for CAPA. You are also responsible for performing timely, detailed CAPA engineering tasks including assessing issue descriptions, reviewing CAPA data sources, assisting with root cause analysis and quality problem solving.

In more detail:

  • Must be able to address multiple CAPAs simultaneously.

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating CAPA business processes.

  • Analyze/review effectiveness of preventive and corrective actions. Review root cause investigation according to an established process.

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and critically analyze data generated.

  • Drive Problem Solving activities towards suppliers and internally, including root cause analysis and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.

  • Work effectively with all levels of management to ensure CAPA action plans can be supported and that costs/resources needed to implement the plan are available and tasked to the projects.

  • Perform periodic trend analysis and corrective action effectiveness measures of all quality system events and identify opportunities for improvement.

What we expect

You have a BS Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent and a working knowledge of Quality System standards and regulations including ISO 9001. A must have knowledge of product failure modes and demonstrate competence in mechanical and functional risk assessment.

In more detail:

  • Professional experience in the field of Quality for at least 8 years.

  • Ability to identify Quality issues and recommend corrective actions that can lead to resolution of general or routine complexity.

  • Accesses policies and procedures for guidance.

  • Capable of using Microsoft program and ability to learn other systems.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical methods and quality tools, as well as statistical application software (MINITAB preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • The ability to work in teams, independent of supervision, to obtain planned results.

  • Must be self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and have ability to multi-task.
