Job Description Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the business market in terms of strategy development, market awareness, sales and profit at a product line level; influences the development and drives the execution of functional or product line plans. The incumbent works within the overall framework of BD Medical business to ensure rapid growth, increase in market share and robust bottom line performance. Influences within work area/ department/ function; provides significant input into product line-related business decisions and resource planning; plays critical role in key projects/ initiatives, often leading project/ initiative teams, including marketing core team member on product development core team. Demonstrates marketing expertise through specific and advanced set of skills and knowledge, e.g. branding, product development, forecasting. Contributes to worldwide product planning and strategy; may serve on a Product Development Core Team or leadership team of a large Worldwide Product Line.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Plans and Promotional Campaigns (60%)

  • In conjunction with BD local business leader, develop the strategic marketing direction for Diabetes Care.

  • Help local country team to develop, implement and review marketing plans/promotional campaigns within agreed timelines

  • Provide timely rebuttal of competitors marketing campaigns/initiatives. Identify key issues and analyses trends to exploit and gain share for BD. Manages drivers of demand for assigned product line(s) such as pricing strategy, channel strategy, contracting, and product mix.

  • Liaise with SEA/GA Marketing Teams to ensure implementation of WW strategic aims for the brands. Modify plans to suit local country requirements.

  • Coordinate and conduct Diabetes Care product training as required to sales force

  • Provides guidance to local team on exhibitions and symposiums to support marketing activities

  • Act as point of call for product issues. Fulfill requests for information in a timely manner

  • Manage product specific projects as required

  • Runs advisory groups as required to provide feedback on products and techniques

  • Drive timely new product launches; reviewing/preparing country launch plans and ensuring regulatory process is completed. Prepare launch packages.

  • Recommends clinical trials and coordinates participation with Clinical affairs/RA, advocate for outcomes programs

Maximizing marketing and sales relationships (15%) :

  • Create proactive, effective, 2-way communication between SEA/GA and local business team redevelopment priorities

  • Establishes strong relationship with local Business Leader, sales team and distributors. Treats them as customers.

  • Effectively motivates people over whom they do not have direct performance.

  • Responds to customer requests with a high degree of urgency

  • Spend at least 4 days/month in field with sales team. As necessary, coach and support local sales team to enhance customer confidence in BD products.

Sales/Profit Achievement and Expense (15%):

  • Monitor sales, expenses and market share of Diabetes care products

  • Provide regular financial projections for the Diabetes Care portfolio as requested by Business Manager/Business Leader or Finance

  • Prepare and manage Diabetes Care related expense budgets to best meet objectives and strategies

  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasts for new Diabetes Care products in conjunction with local and regional Supply Chain team.

Professional Relationships (10%) :

Development of professional relationships with key users/opinion leaders/influencers
