We are currently recruiting an S&OP Planner to join our Worldwide Supply Chain department in Le Pont de Claix (Grenoble).

S&OP Planner / Advanced Drug Delivery Solutions

Reporting to the WW Supply and Inventory Director, the S&OP Planner is responsible for the definition, deployment and execution of the supply chain strategy for the ADDS and plastic PFS product line (self-injection, safety and plastic pre-fillable injection systems) for the 6 to 24 months horizon.

The S&OP Planner works in close partnership with Operations (Manufacturing sites, Suppliers, Plant Planning, Supply Chain teams, Project teams, etc…), the ADDS Platform (Marketing/Business development/Product development), Sales and Marketing, and new product core teams to build a 24 months S&OP plan with the goal to secure continuity of supply, improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns and working capital.

Key performance measures are: service level (OTIF), back order, and DIOH.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Drive and facilitate the monthly S&OP process (Demand Review, Supply Review, Integrated Reconciliation and MBR/Management Business Review…) for ADDS products. This process is designed to ensure that the appropriate level of information is shared between key stakeholders (Finances, Operations, Sales, ADDS and PFS Platforms…) to foster informed and effective decision-making:

  • In coordination with the ADDS and PFS Platforms to ensure consistency with the product / business strategy and budgets.

  • In coordination with Operations management and Finance to optimize performance (P&L, OTIF, plant variances and inventory levels)The S&OP process is fueled by a bottom-up approach built by the S&OP planner based on the plants’ monthly S&OP processes

  • Prepare and lead the various S&OP reviews (Demand, Supply, IR, and MBR), gathering all data, information and metrics in order to identify gaps and scenarios that will then be used to guide final decision-making and key trade-offs.

  • In the context of the S&OP process, identify and propose relevant scenarios / decisions to optimize service level, maximize revenue, drive profitable growth and support the business in achieving its goals.

  • Maximize Customer satisfaction / Service Levels defining the optimized supply plan for ADDS products by:

  • Optimizing capacity to best respond to demand signal

  • Balancing the volumes to be produced to optimize manufacturing network utilization

  • Managing mid/long term capacity allocation by regions / plants when facing tight capacity situations

  • Working on scenarios to best align capacity and demand at plant level, through adjustments in labour and shift organisation

  • In coordination with the SNP team (Supply Network Planning), taking appropriate actions within the S&OP framework to define an optimized planning/inventory model that secures service levels in line with business’ objectives while mitigating inventory exposure and achieving financial goals (cash-flow / DIOH)

  • Drive inventory strategy in coordination with business / Platform to secure its alignment with all stages of product life cycle, from launch to end of life.

  • Partner with the Platform and Sales / Demand Management teams, to ensure that the demand consensus process delivers a volume forecast, which has been agreed upon and is workable (mid and long term). Drive analysis to uncover main gaps and overlaps and ensure they are addressed.

  • Define, deploy and maintain an effective performance monitoring system for S&OP process. The S&OP Planner is a key contributor to the continuous improvement effort for the S&OP process.

  • Ensure consistency of volumes per plant and alignment with finance assumptions (Long Term Planning / Budget / Quarterly forecast processes).

  • Act as point of contact for supply chain input to the projects (new product introduction, industrialization, product-line extension, investment in new manufacturing lines…).

  • Scout new product development core teams for demand on new products.

  • Support project teams with matters related to supply chain (product flows, warehouse selection, inventory strategy, installed capacity)

  • Arbitrate between commercial production and product development slots in the plants

  • Support product design with supply chain inputs (packaging, batch sizes)

  • Champions SKU portfolio optimization activities to avoid proliferation of unused products and drive productivity in the plants

  • Contribute to the improvement of global processes, practices and system usage, in line with business and BD Corporate recommendations.

  • Drives the Long Term Capacity Planning process to align manufacturing assets to business objectives and sponsor capacity expansion projects.



  • BS or higher in Supply Chain, Finance or Business


  • 4 to 8 years in SC management (plant and/or global/S&OP)

  • Work experience with manufacturing operations

  • Remote network management (manufacturing sites, DCs, Regional entities)

  • English is a must, French / Spanish are a plus

  • Experience in Manufacturing & Engineering environment. Knowledge of injection molding is a plus

  • B2B industrial environment

  • Has worked in an international matrix environment
