Job Description Summary

The position of Marketing Director for BD Interventional’s Peripheral Intervention division. This position reports to the VP Marketing & Business Development EMEA. The job can be based from any of BD European offices and travel time of approximately 60% can be expected.

Job Description

The main objective of this position is to develop and implement the marketing strategies that will enable the Peripheral Intervention business to exceed its sales goals.

  • Translate strategies into goals into commercialization tactics. Develop, lead and execute marketing plans required to continue to build and expand the product portfolio.

  • Develop and drive the implementation plans required to support product and program launches and achieve desired NPL results (using GPL processes and tools). Direction provided has a direct impact on the achievement of the cluster/in-country revenue results.

  • Define the product mix, place and pricing strategy. Drive consistency in messaging

  • Develop and implement innovative promotional material/sales tools, demand generation and integrative marketing campaigns that support and communicate the value proposition specific market segment.

  • Responsible for post NPL reviews to understand what worked, what didn’t and how things can be improved.

  • Ensure all downstream marketing materials adhere to corporate compliance regulations

  • Work in direct collaboration with Upstream Marketing, Business Development and Sales to develop and implement a strong commercialization strategy around the product portfolio.

  • Champions communications and activities around competitive intelligence and promotion of understanding of competitive tactics.

  • Foster and develop positive relationships and links with key opinion leaders (KOLs)

  • Coordination of all aspects of relevant annual congresses and master classes

  • Manage the team to effectively drive the strategies and provide product training in-country support

  • Pricing maintenance and management, implementing the guidance from upstream marketing by working with the relevant sales leaders, key account managers and tender team to implement and monitor the pricing strategy.

  • Ensure alignment across key stakeholders, including division, General/Country Managers and field sales force

Essential Skills:

Successful sales and/or marketing background in the medical device industry

Evidence of ability to develop strong technical knowledge of PT products, and related procedural techniques

Strong working knowledge of at least one EMEA geography healthcare market, including competitor activity and broad trends

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage all levels of interaction with internal and external customers

Flexibility to travel extensively in EMEA

Committed to deliver results within the given timelines

Able to make professional presentations with skill and confidence

Fluent in English

Desirable Skills:

Strong language skills, ideally fluent in at least one European language other than English

A university diploma or degree-level qualification in business or marketing

(e.g. CIM, MBA)

Knowledge of sales techniques including SPIN and Strategic Selling

Confidence using Microsoft Windows applications, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
