Job Description Summary
Determines and evaluates the product and or process sterilization required to achieve departmental and business objectives. Through outstanding communication; effective problem solving and active management of ambiguous situations; the Sterility Assurance Scientist applies their experience to product safety, product quality and compliance aligned with relevant global regulations and customer expectations. Success is measured in terms of effective change management through applied skills and robust science. Through stakeholder engagement; and peer development; the Sterility Assurance Scientist produces durable and industry leading results supporting key business drivers.
Engage with quality and R&D networks as well as the business units to effectively promote and drive sterilization goals aligned to the company’s mission and vision.
Proactively identify and work through obstacles that may hinder the delivery of individual impact goals.
Ensure all sterilization activities are sufficiently resourced and compliant with applicable regulations and procedures.
Effectively navigate and lead through the challenges of change and establish key stakeholder engagement focused on win-win solutions.
Continuously evaluate departments / plants / business progress toward tactical goals and objectives adapting them to meet customer and business needs.
Pursue and actively manage key stakeholder relationships that support the broader strategy that are impacted by department / plant / business goals.
Develop and implement best quality practices.
Manage customer impacting issues; prioritizing quality and compliance minded solutions that uphold the company and its standards.
Maintain positive and cooperative communication and collaboration with all levels of employees, customer, contractors and vendors.
Pursue and maintain Subject Matter Expertise of industry trends and global regulations specific to ethylene oxide and gamma irradiation for product sterilization.
Apply ISO, USP, EU and related regulations toward sterile product and sterilization process design.
Independently design experiments and deduce conclusions.
Maintain qualitative and quantitative analysis, include deviations and exceptions.
Review investigations of deviations and approve corrective actions.
Identify any issues that may delay product or project and recommends appropriate action to be taken.
