Job Description

We are recruiting for a Software Engineering Technical Team Lead for a scrum team working on BD product engineering in the Integrated Diagnostics Systems business unit. You will develop a high functioning team while adhering to the core values, practices, and vision of both the agile manifesto and the company.

As Software Engineering Technical Team Lead:

You will work closely with the product owners, the development team, QA, with the product leadership team your job will include:

  • Technical leadership for the EpiCenter Product in IDS Business Unit

  • Technical guidance and mentoring of the development team and test team

  • Architecture, design and development in a Microsoft stack from Database to User Interface.

  • People management – hiring, coaching, performance management

The Epi Center software application is the workflow manager of a Becton Dickinson Microbiology lab. Epi Center controls workflows while also connecting microbiology instruments to hospital LIS systems patient and patient test result data. It requires new feature requirements review, feature implementation, and sustaining activities for released software versions. There is a large customer base with a variety of supported configurations. We are looking for an experienced technical lead to drive solutions and help support our customer base.

The successful candidate will have a minimum level 8 degree in Computer Science or related discipline. You will have 10+ years software development experience using a modern OOO language, you will have 3+ years’ experience in leading a team and experience working in a large cross functional multinational organization. Strong technical skills in C++ and Visual Basic applications, Agile Scrum experience and medical device experience are an advantage for this position.

You must also possess strong leadership and communication skills.
