Job Description SummaryReporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager, this position has direct safety, quality, delivery, cost and talent oversight and responsibility for the Motion contracted Tool Crib, Internal Machine Shop, JLL contracted facilities maintenance, Equipment Hygiene Sanitation Crews, and will lead the plant TPM / ATR strategy and related activities, (Total Productive Maintenance for Reliability). # Job Description + Ensures that all associates within areas of responsibility understand and comply with all safety rules and regulations so as to drive continuous improvement in injury reduction. Participates on the Facilities safety subcommittee and motivates hourly associates to lead and engage with the safety process to drive ownership and commitment to excellence in safety. + Oversight and strategic planning for all facilities related designs, installations, operation, and maintenance including electrical power distribution, steam generation, chilled and RO water sources, sewage, compressed air systems, HVAC systems, building modifications, expansions, and maintenance of the entire site. + Assists the plant EHS manager to assure that the facility complies with all State and Federal regulations related to Department of Labor and Industry, OSHA, Air and Water Pollution Controls, and Insurance Requirements, as well as those related to QSRs, EPA and DHEC. + Oversees the plant’s compliance with Corporate Sustainability programs, including waste disposal, recycling, and other stated sustainability goals. + Administers and enforces accountability with policies and procedures for Facilities Engineering, Tool Crib, and Machine Shop operations. + Develops utility, capital, and operating budgets Plant Facilities and Machine Shop operations. + Directs strategic planning, goal setting, and execution of all associates and contracted vendors in alignment with direction and the overall strategic planning cascaded down from the senior engineering manager and plant leadership team. + Recommends and/or initiates personnel activities such as selection, transfer, discharge, disciplinary actions and associates complaints in a fair, consistent and timely fashion in conjunction with the Access HR 3rd Party Relations Advisor so as to comply with company Human Resources policies. + Develops necessary design specifications for facilities capital equipment and/or facilities installation, including the support of other engineering departments in the installation or upfit of new production equipment and/or lines. + Ensures that all plant facilities and machine shop equipment or structures are well maintained and current on all preventative maintenance activities so as to protect investment integrity and compliance with all ISO 13485 and FDA regulations. + Responsible for C2W / continuous improvement generation and funnel management via facilities related avenues such as energy conservation, tool crib purchasing, machine shop efficiency and other opportunities including the reduction in costs of third party support contracts. + Ensures that effective project management discipline is adhered to by BD associates and third party contractors to deliver projects on time, accurate, and under budget. + Ensures that scope and closure agreements are executed, well defined and adhered to while initiating scope deviation authorizations for any changes. + Ensures prompt communication and follow up with manufacturing leaders any time there is a plant support system failure or related concern. + Directs DMAIC problem resolutions to make certain that problems do not repeat and cause unplanned downtime events. + Oversight for 3rd party JLL Facilities management to ensure that all related aspects are properly supported and executed including plant housekeeping, maintenance support, and support systems reliability. + Writes CB2’s (capital authorizations), for facility related capital needs and ensures proper project management and execution by JLL. + Conducts quarterly Town Hall communications meetings with all associates within span of responsibility. + Conducts annual performance reviews including talent development planning to ensure that we have the right skill levels and bench strength to support the business. + Provides direct reports and contractors timely and documented feedback on their performance throughout the year. + Acts as the plant Security Lead to formulate associated strategies and ensure compliance with all related rules and policies for operations such as the gamma sterilizer, property and building entrance authorizations, and video surveillance. Responsible for managing the Security Guard contracts and relationships. + Oversees the Plant’s spare parts inventory control program (ie. Tool Crib) including supervision and contractor management. Responsible for providing, monitoring and developing improvement strategies for the Tool Crib performance and customer service metrics. + Manages final decision on Tool Crib eBudget stock additions using historical use and proper TPM methodology. + Drives 3rd party Tool Crib management of improvement activities such as BOM creation, cost reduction, and ERSA’s reductions. + Works directly with the plant Microbiologist to quickly resolve any deviations or abnormalities with bioburden monitoring and management. + Communicates with leadership in a timely manner when there are any facilities concerns or issues. + Oversees that the 3rd Party Contractor JLL executes the strategies surrounding plant modernization and beautification strategies. + Champions the plant ATR SAP CMMS compliance and associated PM Metrics. + Develops, drives and communicates the plant TPM strategy while serving as a continuous member of the BDPS PPM team. (Planned and Predictive Maintenance). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : + BS degree in Engineering or related field REQUIRED. + Prefer 3 years leadership experience with direct supervisor responsibility. + Must demonstrate proven leadership skills capability and ability to mentor, coach, and develop other associates. + Prefer 5 years offacilities engineeringexperience. “Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
