ABOUT THE ROLE

As Lab Automation Application Specialist (microbiology)(EMEA) you will be responsible for the implementation of Lab Automation solutions within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). Areas of work include, but are not limited to providing workshops, technical demonstrations, configuration support, LIS/workflow connectivity testing, customer training and validation and launch support. You will closely collaborate with the Project Manager, Informatics Specialist, Sales, Service, and other members of the Customer & Workflow Solutions team to complete a comprehensive project plan and ensure a smooth and efficient implementation at the customer site. The role focuses on solution implementation and optimization of lab processes and workflow by using various methods. An ideal candidate has the potential to support pre-sales activities, by crafting the ideal customer end-to-end solution, based on observations of customer workflows and needs.

Job Description

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Understand customer needs and identify implementation risks.

  • Complete workflow-related implementation deliverables in alignment with planning agreements.

  • Conduct workshops to engage product end-users and prepare them for new work methods.

  • Ensure an outstanding customer experience during implementation and debut.

  • Configure and test the BD Kiestra™ Lab Automation solution, including BD Synapsys™, to fit the customer’s laboratory setting.

  • Train key users, provide support during validation and debut, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to process improvement engagements.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Life Science, clinical, or a relevant technical area.

  • Proficient in both Italian and English, additional languages considered a benefit.

  • 3-5 years of microbiology laboratory experience with knowledge in bacterial identification.

  • Basic understanding of IT architecture and proven knowledge of information/data management systems, including interfaces with LIS.

  • Willingness to travel within Italy and EMEA region at least 75% of the time.

  • Experienced in providing training, troubleshooting real-time issues, and comfortable working independently or as part of a diverse team with commercial foresight.
