Within the context of the BD Diabetes In–Service Consultant Conduct and Communication Policy, BD Diabetes In-service Consultants are responsible for:

  • delivering product education and training prior to “Go Live” conversion date

  • deliver best practice education as it relates to FIT/FIT4Safety Canadian Guidelines for optimal insulin delivery for diabetic patients

  • coaching during product adoption (“Go Live” periods)

  • reinforcing site specific institutional policies and procedures (when required)

  • Providing post conversion follow up support as needed

These tasks will be accomplished using your knowledge of evidence informed clinical practice, change management and adult learning principles.

The ideal candidate for this role is a healthcare provider with recent experience in diabetes management and education, who is recently retired, looking for casual work, or is employed on a casual basis and has the flexibility to take on conversion projects as they arise.

  • Availability must be four to five days per week.

  • Shift times no less than four hours and not exceeding 12 hours

  • Shift range 0700-2300 hours

  • during the length of the individual conversion project

  • Conversion Projects typically range from one to two weeks in length per hospital site

Ideally, the candidate will be provided with at least 4-6 weeks’ notice; however, shorter notice may be given depending on the project.

This is a casual role and In-Service Consultants will be engaged on a per project basis regionally.
