About the role:
The Master Data Business Specialist is accountable for the accuracy of BD master data which is critical to the effectiveness of our downstream processes that affect the customer experience and commercial enablement such as order fulfillment, web ordering, e-catalogue and reporting. This role is responsible for the maintenance of Customer and Material Master Data for BD - Canada including master data collection, ERP maintenance, as well as governance surrounding data accuracy and integrity. The Master Data Business Specialist acts as the master data subject matter authority supporting cross functional and business resources across the organization. Development of continuous process improvements and promoting the use of standard methodologies, both within Canada and across BDX, is a key responsibility of this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
Facilitate data collection and entry of sales organization and plant level master data using SharePoint and/or other Workflow solutions to manage new material/customer activations and change or deactivation requests across multiple partners.
Coordinate completion of workflow requests across partners through open request monitoring and open status reports, in order to drive timely request closure per SLAs.
Promote data governance by ensuring quality and accuracy of customer/material master data through execution of the annual governance plan where scheduled checks and balances are performed.
Manage and maintain end to end processes and customer master maintenance through timely completion of requests in up and downstream systems. These systems support central initiatives such as web ordering and reporting (e.g. SAP, CRM, RelTio, Roll-up Source of Truth, Customer Web Portal, Salesforce.com).
Maintain all material master systems that support the Customer Experience including but not limited to SAP, Hybris web ordering portal and e-catalogue.
Identify and drive continuous improvement and process integration in master data across multiple ERP systems for all legacy business units.
Maintain active relationships with local marketing, cross functional partners as well as worldwide Master Data Owners to share and use standard methodologies.
Create and maintain master data policies and procedures.
Support local marketing and product management and cross functional partners as the subject matter expert through training and maintenance of master data support resources.
Responsible for approving user access (CUP) requests relating to master data processes in SAP. Provide training and support to end users.
Provide support to Sales Operations in managing Salesforce.com administrative activities.
Work with Business Analysts and IT to implement new reporting tools to cleanse and report data and to manage business workflow.
Participate in cross functional projects and initiatives as required.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and troubleshoot sophisticated business problems.
Strong digital literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience in SAP or other ERP systems
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multi tasks.
Education and experience required:
University Degree in Business preferred. College and work experience combined,
1 to 2 years relevant experience
