Job Description Summary
The Senior Business Analyst - DHC (12 month Contract) is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing leadership in BD’s Diabetes Health Care organization to provide business insights informing decisions in order to achieve strategic and sales objectives. This role involves independently gathering, understanding, and analyzing market intelligence data to broaden market insights and analytics. This role is a strategic business partner for the BD Diabetes Care platform teams, and is responsible for understanding the team’s business challenges and opportunities with minimal guidance. The successful candidate is expected to bring expert-level insights to the business, leverage a strong understanding of IQVI secondary level data analysis, primary market research, and have significant experience in synthesizing and applying data and research insights to inform strategy and proactively identify opportunities. In addition, the role will perform other analytics to support pricing strategy, customer insights, target setting, sales rep performance reporting, along with developing metrics and reports to monitor the health of the business. This includes data mining, quantifying, reconciling, evaluating, and transforming internal and external information into business intelligence, and providing easily understandable and actionable recommendations which further drive the achievement of strategic and sales objectives.
Provide business decision support through market and sales analytics in support of overall pricing strategy, and offer customer/market insights that will accelerate sales growth.
Work closely with sales and marketing to gather reporting requirements and build new reporting capabilities, including performing data validation, combining multiple complex data sets, and creation of customized, self-serve dashboards as required.
Responsible for the management, continual customization and development of existing Tableau Reporting Suite, reports, forms, templates and models utilizing varying technologies (Qlikview, PowerPivot, Excel, VBA Macros, Access etc) in support of the business.
Ensure submissions to and reporting from external organization occur within tight time deadlines, and guarantee accuracy.
Lead monthly business reviews by providing performance updates on key meterics, providing research driven insights, and investigate discrepancies as needed.
Manage moderately complex projects, take full ownership and indepenently lead scope and design of market research, internal projects, and process improvement from design to fielding to presentation and recommendation with minimal guidance.
Participate and collaborate with external partners, data collection and research firms, and internal global BD divisions regularly. Share and leverage best practices, new learnings and developments from other businesses locally and globally.
5+ years of business analytics, decision support, or complex retail finance or statistical/data science experience
Experience with statistical or financial modelling, data basing techniques, and interpreting contractual agreements/proposal language
Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
Detail oriented, strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment, with minimal guidance provided
Proficiency in Tableau as well as Expert/Mastery level Excel skills are required
Experience within the Diabetes Health Care Industry, Diabetes Care market dynamics (in particular with insulin treatment) is strongly preferred
Experience with retail or health care analytics, IQVIA/IMS Health, Human Data Science preferred
