Job Description Summary

The Country Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of strategic programs to meet both the short- and long-term growth strategies for the current and future MDS portfolio offerings in the Canadian market across consisting of Vascular Access Devices (VAD), Catheter Care (CC), Injection Systems (IS), and Infusion Preparation and Delivery (IPD). As such, the role requires leading and developing talent in the Marketing team, maintaining Canadian representation amongst Global colleagues, collaborating, and interacting with the Global business platforms and strong coordination between the business and our functional partners (supply chain, finance, medical affairs and quality/regulatory affairs). This individual is a significant contributor to the delivery of cross business objectives: expanding the depth and breadth of our individual BU offering, accelerating growth through collaboration across various portfolios and driving key growth initiatives through targeted metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the marketing team to develop and implement marketing plans and go-to-market strategies, including customer target segments, channel and pricing strategies that maximize market penetration and customer access.

  • Strong commitment to developing talent across extended teams; and actively focused on advancing the careers of marketing commercial associates. Consistently modelling the desired behaviors and creation of demand conditions for marketing tools; for example, support the BD Way of Marketing training curricula, marketing planning processes, competencies, and recognition programs.

  • Collaborate with the global and local teams, on the development of a multi-year annual strategic review (ASR) of the business growth outlook and investments necessary to drive continued growth.

  • Develop a leading customer experience with the BD brand. Recognized within the marketing function and across other functions as a true advocate for the customer and/ or patient.

  • Understands and addresses customer/ patient needs in the products, services and/or processes we develop, market and sell.

  • Works to improve internal process bottlenecks on behalf of the business to support agile decision making on behalf of the customer.

  • Supports the development of compelling marketing and sales strategies in collaboration with the Canadian Marketing Council, MDS Marketing LT, BU Sales Directors and Corporate Accounts Team to implement customer solutions that drive incremental revenue growth for BD Canada.

  • Strong commitment to a culture of collaboration within the business and between the functions. Driving execution our strategy through alignment and collaboration with sales & SCDs, clinical/applications, finance, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Contracts, RFP Team, Supply Chain and Logistics.

Skills and Competencies

  • Understanding/experienced in managing financial/operational processes.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written; mastery of influencing others and building relationships.

  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing excellence; proven skills in driving strategic offering for healthcare's C-suite and higher.

  • Ability to gain deep insights from relationships, analytics and research to inform marketing plans and targeted campaigns.

  • Demonstrated ability in market planning and execution for sales effectiveness.

  • Ability to work in cross functional tea, fostering environment of customer centricity with speed to action.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel – up to 25% of time.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written; mastery of influencing others and building relationships.

  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing excellence; proven skills in driving strategic offering for healthcare's C-suite and higher.

  • Ability to gain deep insights from relationships, analytics, and research to inform marketing plans and targeted campaigns.

  • Demonstrated ability in market planning and execution for sales effectiveness.

  • Ability to work in cross functional tea, fostering environment of customer centricity with speed to action.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years healthcare leadership in marketing and/or sales management.

  • Previous experience in supporting sales and strategy of large, complex offerings in medical device industry.

  • Previous People Leadership/Management experience.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Graduate Degree, MBA preferred
