BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Continuous Improvement Industrial Engineer in Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Deploys continuous improvement strategies and operations excellence initiatives for the facility. Focus on driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost using multiple methodologies such as; Kaizen & Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and Process Optimization. Foster a continuous improvement culture & learning environment to ensure training and development of the facility resources in the principles, techniques, and methodologies of Continuous Improvement.

  • Develop and deploy the facility training & development plan on the principles, techniques, & methodologies of Continuous Improvement across all functions and levels

  • Implement systematic problem solving / root cause analysis process across all functions (PDCA, DMAIC, Is/Is Not, 5-Why’s, A3’s, etc)

  • Lead the implementation of the continuous improvement strategy throughout the facility including:

  • Employee Engagement

  • Lead the development of lean production lines and line balancing, including for new product introductions

  • Ensure standardization of metrics and effective monitoring across departments

  • Drive and Deliver expected continuous improvement results for Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost

  • Other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • 1 to 3 years experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Lean Certification; Lean Master or Certified Black Belt or Green Belt.

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands or arms (to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls). The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

  • The employee must occasionally lift 35 pounds.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

  • The employee occasionally works in high places; in outside weather conditions and with toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.

  • The Personal Protective Equipment required to perform this job safely includes safety glasses and appropriate shoes. The employee would occasionally use ear plugs.
