Overview:

Responsible for ensuring productivity goals are met and assisting maintenance personnel with daily tasks. Responsibilities also include identifying and coordinating training for shift personnel, coordinating resources to complete scheduled work orders and periodic maintenance tasks, ensuring completion of projects, and ensuring proper documentation of work performed.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

  • Apply proficiency of at least two skill sets within a craft to satisfy the needs of internal customers.

  • Lead maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and plant utilities, as needed.

  • Use knowledge of craft to cross train other maintenance associates as directed.

  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Utilize technical manuals or bulletins, as well as blueprints in daily activities.

  • Write work orders.

  • Utilize analog and digital measuring equipment, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential job Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate proficiency at a minimum of 2 skill sets within the below listed crafts/specialties. The individual must have a strong understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing processes, plant systems and equipment. In addition, the individual will be required to work/train on skills and tasks outside their area of specialty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

  • Mechanical –May be exhibited through internal certification, trade school certification, or documented Job experience

  • Hydraulics

  • Pneumatics

  • Welding

  • Pipe fitter

  • Boiler maintenance

Electrical/Electronics -May be exhibited through internal certification, trade school certification, or documented Job experience

  • Electrician

  • Demonstrate ability to plan and implement electrical projects

  • Working knowledge of National Electrical code requirements

  • Ability to size and install hard wire control systems.

  • Electronics

  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and modify PLC programs in ladder logic.

Machinist- May be exhibited through internal certification, trade school certification, or documented Job experience.

  • General machinist

  • Demonstrate proficiency in use mills, lathe, saws, grinders, and other machine tools.

  • Fabricate machined fixtures, workholding devices and piece parts.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints,

  • Tool/Die maker

  • Grind dies

  • Fabricate fixtures, work holding devices, dies, punches.

  • Sharpen tooling.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Associates degree in mechanical or electrical technology preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to apply algebraic equations for problem solving.

  • Accurately able to measure weight, volume and temperature.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

  • Creative, analytical skills, and detail orientation.

  • Ability to utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for handling work orders, inventory control, and preventive maintenance.

  • Ability to motivate and train peers.

  • Ability to make red line changes to schematics, blueprints, or design drawings.

  • Ability to make working sketches of any new project, concept, or idea.

  • Ability to write procedures as a guide for problem solving.

  • Excellent communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
