BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Production Set Up Operator in New Jersey
Job Description SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Manufacturing Facilitator, operate production machinery and auxiliary equipment in accordance with written procedures. Performs set-ups, line clearance, mechanic repairs, adjustment, and troubleshooting and equipment preventive maintenance and clean up. Maintain equipment in good working condition and clean. Perform routine trouble-shooting. Notify Manufacturing Facilitator of any deviation from normal operation of equipment requiring maintenance support. Participate in evaluation and trouble-shooting of equipment, Conduct on the job training of other associates. Participate in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. Follow approved procedures and in compliance with QSR, ISO 13485 and safety rules regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Starts up the equipment following approved procedures. Monitors quality of product to ensure quality of production. Performs adjustments established in the approved procedures.
Records production information in data forms following approved procedures and in compliance with QSR, ISO 13485 and safety regulations. Ensure that data recorded is accurate, neat and readable.
Ensures that environmental conditions are met in accordance with requirements of Production Specifications and data forms.
Notify Manufacturing Facilitator immediately of any deviations.
Performs equipment clean-up, routine preventive maintenance and trouble- shooting on equipment under his/her responsibility.
Recognizes and brings to the attention of the Manufacturing Facilitator or Shift Leader defective components or raw materials that may cause product failure or affect equipment output.
Ensures proper disposition of waste materials.
Reconciles daily production.
Maintain production area clean and safe.
Pursue ongoing goal of cost reductions.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Manufacturing Facilitator.
Ensures that own work is performed in compliance with QSR, ISO 13485.
Responsible for meeting the production goals and quality of products as established by the procedures that apply to each product.
Manage raw materials, production supplies and work in process.
Comply with all documentation required following the GMP practices.
Use Statistical Process Control to maintain the process control of the products and meet products requirements.
Make use of the 5S to keep the machine and area clean and organized.
Report any safety hazard to the supervisor.
Participate of the decisional process and must perform their functions with or without direct supervision.
Keep the equipment and tools in optimal conditions; these include daily maintenance and preventive maintenance.
Report to engineering and/or to maintenance of any machine malfunction.
Differentiate between electronic and mechanical malfunctions in order to direct the engineering and maintenance department.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance and recommend changes as necessary.
Perform SAP transactions of the material use in the manufacturing process.
Perform any other duties assign by the production supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge in MS Office and design program.
Working knowledge in electronics, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
Able to read and understand drawings and schematics.
Able to communicate, be a team player, initiative. Should be efficient and effective in the search for solutions.
Working knowledge of measuring instruments.
Able to walk or move freely products or heavy equipment.
Minimum of six months demonstrated proficiency in PAS equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical Certification on Industrial Mechanic, Electronics or any related industrial certification, or minimum of 6 months demonstrated proficiency on PAS equipments.
Two years (2) of experience in the Medical Device and/or Pharmacy industries or Cosmetic Industries.
Preferably bilingual (Spanish & English)
- Communication, coordination, hand-eye coordination skills. Visual discrimination, up-close, far, 3-dimensional, peripheral, color scheme.
- Light work, which requires at times the carrying of up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Standing most part of the time. Able to walk short distance frequently. Able to move the back in order to move objects.
