BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Technical Product Manager, Informatics in New Jersey

Job Description SummaryGlobal Technical Product Manager – DS Informatics is responsible for developing and driving Diagnostic Systems-Informatics launch strategies and product requirements for next generation microbiology informatics platform. This associate will work closely with other members of the global Informatics platform team – upstream and downstream marketing, instrument marketing teams, R&D, service organization, and regional stakeholders to achieve platform objectives and timely product launches that meet and exceed customer needs.

Job Description


  • Develop and execute commercialization strategies in collaboration with downstream marketing manager and platform marketing teams to successfully launch Informatics products in different regions

  • Develop product mix/messaging and marketing strategies to help develop differentiated value offers to support product launches and yearly marketing plans

  • Collaborate with regions to stay on top of changing customer needs and market trends

  • Support upstream marketing by developing product requirements based on sound fact-based market research and VOC methodologies

  • Work closely with service organization to ensure serviceability (implementation, troubleshooting and support) requirements are incorporated in product requirements and strategy

  • Work closely with Healthcare Economics and scientific affairs teams to develop evidence generation strategy and plan.

  • Effectively collaborate with regional marketing leaders, upstream marketing, R&D, Clinical and Scientific Affairs to ensure appropriate inputs into portfolio and marketing strategy.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Qualifications :

  • BA/BS degree in marketing, healthcare informatics, business administration, or within a technical area of focus; Masters degree in healthcare informatics, marketing, or business administration preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in worldwide strategic marketing, global marketing, product management, or customer facing role in life science companies; Preferably for an informatics product.

  • Good understanding of operationalizing SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) pricing model

  • Experience with one or more of the following informatics related technologies – LIS/EMR/Middleware, HL7/ASTM

  • Demonstrated skills in collaboratively working with regional teams to drive solution awareness, and competencies to drive solution adoption

  • Strategic agility and action oriented with the ability to drive results.

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation skills; proven analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable plans; demonstrated ability to develop and implement marketing and product strategies, convert them into tactical marketing plans, execute and deliver results.

  • Creative out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious, stays current on new trends, and takes calculated risks with novel ideas.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-culturally.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills - written and oral - for a wide variety of audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop strong relationships with, customers, advisory boards, and potential or existing business partners.

  • Leadership presence with ability to utilize organizational channels, experience and influencing skills to effectively negotiate and persuade others, comfortable with complex and matrixed-team environments.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.

  • Flexibility to travel globally to regions and customer sites at least 20-30% of the time.
