Job Description Summary

The Demand and Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for the overall demand/supply management via the execution of robust SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes for 1 or 2 business units within the EMEA region. He/She will review business demand forecast by respective business units and countries to ensure alignment with financial and business objectives. As part of SIOP, this role will engage and partner World Wide Business Segments (WWBU) and WW Supply Planning and will be the main contact to communicate exceptional demand forecast and supply requirements. Often, he/she needs to play an influential role and become the core communication focal point in working with WWBU, as the role will need to understand demand/supply. The Supply Chain Planning Manager will work to ensure that as part of SIOP, issues/gaps are escalated with courage for decision and resolved in a timely manner in the Management Business Review.

He/she play a key role in developing the supply chain talents with focus on supply chain planning. Working collaboratively with the WWBU and Region SC Leaders, he/she will develop a lean, adaptive and learning organization leveraging on the concept of Center of Excellence (COE) and Business Partnering, to elevate the maturity of the team to support future growth and complexity of EMEA.

This role must embrace change in the course of supply chain transformation and pursuit of business excellence, the role will be expected to support strategic initiatives and radical change. In addition, he/she will also be working collaboratively with operations (manufacturing, customer service, Logistics and country supply chain) to execute strategies measured by core supply chain key performance indicators and align to key business objectives.

Job Description

Task & responsibilities

Demand Management

  • Provides leadership to a team of Regional Demand Planners in the management and aggregation of EMEA demand.

  • Review and validate the demand analysis provided by the Demand Planners at the worldwide business level. Constructively challenge team, Business and country to ensure that market intelligence, risk and opportunities, new product introductions, conversions and rationalization are captured in the demand forecast.

  • Builds strong partnership and planning collaboration between country, region and Business to increase seamless engagement, allowing he/she to assess the impact of market changes or significant variances in the forecast and recommend appropriate revisions and tactics.

  • Ensures alignment of planning strategies with global and regional business strategies. Understands the market segments for the different businesses and adapt the right planning process to serve the segments/cluster profitably.

  • Responsible for the overall allocation process, oversees Demand Planners to ensure that the region can secure more inventories and to balance the real inventory needs at the region level.

  • Works with Global Supply Chain team on the annual long-term planning (LTP) to support the production budget and fiscal year costing.

  • Responsible for developing necessary skill competencies including SAP/APO/BW, demand planning, scenario management and the ability to conduct dynamic planning based on changes in supply & demand

  • Accountable for overall region forecast accuracy and ensures alignment of forecast with global and regional business strategies.

S&OP

  • Supports a sustainable Regional/Country Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process with global input / alignment with respective WWBU.

  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with functions involved in the process such as Sales and Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing operations, Finance between World Wide, Region and Country participants.

  • Maintains formal documented processes which are accepted, understood, and approved with clearly defined accountabilities, business processes, expected outputs and key performance indicators.

  • Responsible for ensuring that SIOP Regional activities/meetings occur each month.

  • Ensures business exceptions and escalations from Country/Region SIOP meetings are defined and escalated for decision making through the Demand and Supply Reviews, and further to the MBR as appropriate.

  • In partnerships with Regional Finance, works to align supply and demand with financial and business strategies through Budget and Monthly planning cycles.

  • Contributes to the SIOP maturity Roadmap and adopts the SIOP assessment tools/ guides to ensure sustainability, educates cross-functional partners on the SIOP process and engages them in the ongoing process as appropriate.

Requirements

Academy experience

  • BS/BA Business Administration, Supply Chain and Logistics, engineering or related degree,

Required

  • At least >5 years’ experience in supply chain and inventory planning and at least >3 years of related management experience

  • Knowledge of integrated supply chain systems –, SAP APO/SCM, MRP/ERP

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good business acumen (basic finance and marketing understanding) and customer focused

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with others to include communication, presentation, negotiation, etc.

  • Demonstrate good leadership attributes and experience managing in matrix organization

  • Business level fluency in English required
