We have an ongoing need for Injection Moulding Technicians of all levels for our BD Vacutainer Systems plant, which is located 15min drive from the city centre on Belliver Industrial Estate in Plymouth, Devon.
These are permanent positions on continuous shifts (40 hours per week) offering an attractive shift premium on top of your base salary.
a) day shift (11am to 11pm), 3 days on, 3days off
b) night shift (11pm to 11am), 3 days on, 3days off

About the role
Our Moulding Technician will work under the direction of a Process Engineer and be responsible for set-up and efficient running of moulds, moulding machines (Engel, Demag, Netstal) and robotics; pneumatic/ hydraulic systems and ancillaries to meet quality standards and production targets.
Our technicians have the chance to work on the latest equipment that will them the opportunity to learn all about high tech sophisticated machinery. They are working in clean-rooms and controlled areas while adhering to GMP standards, scheduling PPM – Planned Preventative Maintenance activities.
Your key responsibilities:
provide mechanical and electrical support on hi-tech automated assembly lines and monitor machine performance.
repairing faults as the first port of call for machine breakdowns,
plan and execute pro-active preventative maintenance programs in SAP to minimise downtime,
work from mechanical, schematics drawings to assist with fault finding,
advise on technical issues, collaborating with engineers and the production team as well as supporting Continuous Improvement activities.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be already working as a Moulding Technician/ Maintenance Technician in the manufacturing/ industrial company and have the following electrical or mechanical qualifications:
City & Guilds Diploma in Electrical Installations L2 or higher
BTEC HND in Mechanical Engineering
Knowledge of tooling and injection moulding from manufacturing industry such as medical devices, T1 automotive, food & beverage, general manufacturing …
The successful candidate will undergo skills training to acquire certifications such as cGMP to enable him/her to work in a cleanroom.
