About the role:
The Senior Director Integrated Supply Chain will coordinate all plant activities with special emphasis to ensure regulatory compliance, ISO Certification, and ensure that we have policies and procedures in place to meet directives of local country specific agencies. The role reports to the Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain.
It will be the Senior Director's responsibility to establish a high level of expectation for all employees in the performance of their duties as it relates to ethical conduct. The Senior Director will also represent BD as appropriate in the surrounding community.
The Senior Director is responsible for establishing aggressive cost objectives, capacity planning, attainment of production schedules, productivity and efficiency improvements, and the development and management of annual budgets and financial performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
Compliance activities to ensure that the facility meets all regulatory agency requirements on the local, federal, and international levels.
The implementation of the Corporate and Business strategies will be coordinated through the VP of Integrated Supply Chain and with other plant locations or outside vendors as required.
Responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment in accordance with established company policies and governmental agency regulations.
Represent BD in the community and in professional organizations on a local or regional level.
Periodic visits to customer locations for the purpose of understanding all product use and finding opportunities to enhance our service and quality levels to the customer through improved manufacturing processes.
Establish formalized vendor improvement programs which will improve the quality, cost, and service capability of vendors to the manufacturing facility.
Optimally manage all assets of the corporation at this location to ensure maximum utilization of capital employed and to achieve the highest possible return on net assets. This would include the utilization of equipment, facility and work in process or finished goods inventory dollars.
Plan, prepare and recommend an annual operating budget. Upon approval, establish and implement a monitoring system of plant performance to budget. In addition, balance of the year financial forecasting will be done and submitted as advised by SM Unit Finance.
Responsible for the accounting and reporting of all location capital assets per company policy. Capital budgets for building and equipment will be prepared and submitted for final approval in accordance with Company policy and PAS Unit directives.
Responsible for the planning and implementation of cost reduction programs, waste reduction, quality improvement, and productivity improvement programs. As required, these will be coordinated within the plant, SM Unit R&D, SM Unit Q.A, and other plant locations as appropriate.
Constant evaluation of manufacturing systems, methods, procedures and controls is required, and changes implemented on a timely basis.
Senior Director leadership is vital to encourage the understanding and use of new technologies geared to improving product quality or manufacturing efficiencies.
Delegation of Authority to Accept Notice of Inspection on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO of Becton Dickinson and Company authorizes the Top Manager with Executive Responsibility at the site being inspected to accept the notice of inspection on their behalf. This authority may be further delegated to the Top Regulatory Compliance Leader at the site.
About you:
You will have 10+ years’ industrial experience in manufacturing and related engineering. Minimum of 8 years in a leadership role, including leading multiple layers of management.
Thorough knowledge of direct cost systems, quality control, management principles and practices, manufacturing processes, equipment and scheduling, employee relations, purchasing and inventory control.
Significant knowledge of laws and regulations governing worker safety, and UK labour Laws.
Kaizen and/or Lean experience required
Education and experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management, or equivalent work experience if candidate is degreed in field other than Engineering or Business Management.
