We are looking for a Shift Engineering Technician who will support the Process group in resolving technical issues within the production areas in B2. You will use your technical expertise to guide and mentor Production Technicians, work to improve processes using your creativity, fault find, troubleshoot, refurbish equipment and parts, attend breakdowns and take ownership and use your initiative to champion continuous improvement.

We have continuous day shift available with an attractive 32% shift premium.

Job Description

As Shift Engineering Technician, your responsibilities are to;

  • Fully support, maintain, and uphold the core values of the site and company

  • Support the Senior Engineering Technician with the leadership of the Shift Production Technicians by effectively managing priorities by distributing technical resource to appropriate areas

  • Work with the Senior Engineering Technician to help drive the H&S culture on shift, with respect to PTW, LOTO, DRA and the Safe start methodology

  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, regulatory, environmental and quality standards, adhering to company procedures relating to process changes and/or equipment modification

  • Work with the Senior Engineering Technician and Shift Leader to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets are managed across all areas on shift

  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to Production Technicians in resolving complex machine related faults. To be a ‘problem solver’ and provide solutions to engineering, technical and maintenance problems

  • Coach and develop the shift technical teams. Identify areas of strength and weakness and to formulate effective plans for improvement

  • Support team-based activities aimed at achieving goals of minimising downtime, reducing waste and increasing Right First-Time metrics across all shifts

  • Possess the ability to disassemble and reassemble complex machinery

  • Work in conjunction with the Process Engineer on selected projects

  • Support continuous improvement through identification and implementation of process improvements, maximising equipment effectiveness through ‘Technical Excellence’

  • Provide ownership and compliance with the technical escalation matrix

  • To carry out any other duty deemed necessary within the capability of the Engineering Technician as deemed appropriate by the Process Engineering leader

About you

To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate a consistent track record in a high-volume assembly and manufacturing environment. You will use your IT skills to operate the SAP system. Ideally, you will have a background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical and servo systems. You will have an ONC in an engineering subject or equivalent experience. You will be a good communicator with a positive demeanour and patience when assisting and guiding less experienced associates.
