BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Lead Manufacturing Operator Gesco - 2nd Shift - Internal Applicants Only in Queensbury, New York
Coordinate the appropriate level of support through the various wind, insert, weld, verification, molding, gluing, inspection and count/bag operations, to communicate regularly with the TL and Lead Dip Operator, to gather and enter production data, support the cross training strategy and ensure the daily and weekly targets are achieved in each part of the team. It is not enough to simply make the weekly plan, we must sustain the appropriate level of work in process throughout all key operations in the team to be successful. Previous leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to form effective partnerships with team members will be key, as will the ability to communicate verbally, through email and occasionally to the group in team meetings. This operator should be someone willing to step into the most challenging operation of the day and lead by example.
Provide leadership role. In addition to the Team Leader, act as primary contact to Team Members. On off-shifts, act as team contact for off-shift supervisors.
Coordinate activities of department activities as it relates to product flow.
Monitor work schedules and break times to ensure production needs are met and company policies are followed.
Requires the ability to coordinate machinery to a variety of scheduled products.
Provide assistance with daily observations, track observations and provides feedback to Team Leaders and Team Members.
Works closely with Production Clerks to help facilitate inventory accuracy.
Foster Continuous Improvement in all areas of team performance and initiates the necessary corrective action from any resource when required.
Responsible for training of team members on existing processes as well cross-training existing team members to further job rotation opportunities.
Daily tracking of production requirements and daily metrics.
Provide assistance to MOB engineering including MRB investigations and ESM production.Demonstrates a solid attendance record.
Demonstrates strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend specifications written in English, perform basic math calculations and use measuring devices and tools.
Ability to solve problems, conflicts, share information and make decisions to achieve Continuous Improvement.
Occasional travel may be required.
Pass Visual Accuracy assessment
Experience in Lutonix operations
MS Office proficient at basic level - Word and Excel
Ability to get along with people and to be able to work in a team environment.
Must exhibit willingness to work on a team and promote teamwork among all employees.
Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities.
High School diploma or GED, plus a minimum of six (6) months experience in manufacturing.
Ability to work under magnification for long periods of time
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Able to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted (over 35 with assistance).
Repetitive use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and/or perform repetitive hand/wrist movement
Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). Frequent exposure to situations requiring precautions due to the potential for minor injury or other health hazards
On-the-Job, SOP’s required for position and GMP.
