The Glens Falls Operation is known as Bard’s Technology Center and is Bard’s largest domestic manufacturing facility employing approximately 700 in a three shift operation. The Glens Falls Operation manufactures over 20 different product lines serving all Bard Divisions
Performs any combination of tasks involved in the manufacture and assembly of medical devices as well as setting up, operating, performing maintenance on and troubleshooting equipment. The responsiblities of this role include Satin Grind and International Bipolar functions, as well as, learning Grinder Set Up operations.
Build up spray is intended to spray many layers of polyurethane mix to achieve product diameter.
Responsible for making chemical mixes, managing product through spray and bake operations while minimizing downtime and wasted material.
Working with chemicals, reading and writing, following specs, MSDS.
Managing flammable waste.
Communicating well with other build up team members.
Responsible for following safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for following all required GMP’s and applicable manufacturing procedures.
Perform a variety of duties to assemble all types and sizes of product, components, and sub-assemblies using a variety of standard and specialty assembly machines or hand operations. May be required to press, bond, solder, flare, strip, clamp, sand, weld, mount/takedown or inspect for appearance, gauging of parts by “no-go” or ”go” gauges and set fixtures.
Shows the ability to consistently meet daily production goals while building a high quality product, part or subassembly to specification.
Works with Production Clerks to help facilitate inventory accuracy.
Follow department procedures on material replenishment.
Provides assistance to MOB engineering including MRB investigations and ESM production.
Assists in training of manufacturing personnel.
Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance team performance.
Must be able to work flexible or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis.
Ability to get along with people and be able to work in a team environment.
Other related duties as assigned.
Must be able to successfully demonstrate mechanical aptitude either through testing and/or job related experience, technical training or certification where required.
Ability to read, write, interpret, comprehend and consistently follow specifications written in English.
Ability to perform basic math calculations and use measuring devices and tools.
Ability to successfully demonstrate visual accuracy through company-approved program.
Meets or exceeds dexterity requirements.
Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities
Displays a positive attitude.
High School diploma or GED, plus a minimum of one year of prior related work experience in manufacturing.
Repetitive use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and/or perform repetitive hand/wrist movement.
Ability to work under magnification for long periods of time.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
Able to lift 50 lbs .
Able to move full barrels with use of dolly.
May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.
Must not be sensitive to strong orders.
Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.).
May be subject to situations requiring precautions due to the potential for minor injury or other health hazards.
Working with many various chemicals while in the build up operations.
