The Glens Falls Operation is known as Bard’s Technology Center and is Bard’s largest domestic manufacturing facility employing approximately 700 in a three shift operation. The Glens Falls Operation manufactures over 20 different product lines serving all Bard Divisions.

Manage the Accounting functions at the Glens Falls facility in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for preparing, analyzing and reporting monthly and annual financials to Facility, Division and Corporate management.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet review and reconciliation.

  • Supervise accounting staff.

  • Oversee accounts payable function & onsite payroll submissions to Corporate

  • Assist and challenge teams with compiling cost improvements, team goals, and monthly forecasts.

  • Manage both internal and external audits performed at the facility.

  • Act as site SOX Coordinator ensuring compliance.

  • Review, challenge, monitor, and support all inventory and inventory control functions.

  • Manage and report results of annual physical inventory.

  • Monitor, evaluate and coordinate the disposal of obsolete and excess inventories, including appropriate reserve requirements. Evaluate annually 3rd party inventory in transit.

  • Prepare the annual operating budget for the facility.

  • Support the operations Staff in the overall management of the operations financials, specifically around purchase price variance, rate, indirect spending and balance sheet management.

  • Support Cost Accounting with developing project and product cost estimates for New Product On-loads and Transfers.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual tax requirements for Corporate Tax.

  • Prior Supervisory Experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access and Word.

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems. JD Edwards and Hyperion a plus.

  • CPA/CMA/MBA a plus.

  • Background in lean manufacturing/six sigma a plus.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5 years of experience in Accounting. 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing or operational environment

  • Work permits employee to remain seated with some fatiguing posture. Occasional lifting between 1-5 lbs.

  • Physical surroundings are pleasant and comfortable, with little or no exposure to injury or other health hazards.

Training Requirements:

On-the-job, SOPs required for position and GMP.
