BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Laboratory Informatics Technical Engineer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina
Job Description SummaryThis position will function within the Lab Informatics Unit of Corporate Preclinical Development & Toxicology (CPDT). This position will be responsible for designing, developing, evaluating, implementing and managing laboratory related infrastructure, applications, and software that support the departmental goals and objectives in providing biocompatibility testing for the entire company.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and validation of new instruments and software.
Implements software and systems to improve efficiency accuracy, and compliance of ISO and GLP compliant laboratories.
Creates specifications, SOPs, protocol, test scripts, and other documents as
Focus on networking, connections, workstation, and user configurations.
Design technical landscape to support integration of multiple workstations and instrumentation, that are running on multiple networks, and defining rules to allow firewall traffic between them.
Develop and maintain documentation on technical footprint of CPDT labs.
Serve as point of contact for multiple instrumentation vendors and Corporate IT for CPDT lab connectivity and daily support.
Performs other duties as assigned.
K nowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires a minimum of a B.S. Degree in an IT or Engineering/Science discipline.
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in an R&D or Lab environment.
Working knowledge of Information Technology practices and change management processes.
Working knowledge of workstation configuration, networking, user management, and security permissions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Working knowledge of office productivity software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint)
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent written communication, organizational and time management skills.
