Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for maintaining either a specific contract portfolio or the buying group contracts portfolio within the guidelines established by management. Incumbent provides accurate and timely contract and sales information to divisional management, regional/national accounts managers and corporate personnel. Incumbent is responsible for administering and monitoring the corporate and divisional pricing strategies and guidelines.

Essential job Functions:

Contracts Representative:

  • Generates and maintains all aspects of BAS contracts by specified geographic region, including new contracts, renewals, addendums and bids.

  • Maintains accurate contract pricing in the contract and order entry systems.

  • Researches, calculates and enters distributor rebates for assigned distributors.

  • Researches and resolves all pricing disputes.

  • Develops and submits contract bids as required for all state and government facilities requiring specialized tracking to ensure compliance with government bid guidelines.

  • Develops sales and profit/loss analysis as requested by the sales force, BAS management, BAS customers and corporate sales personnel.

  • Provides support to the Group Contracts Representative as required.

Group Contracts Representative:

  • Generates and maintains a portfolio of buying group contracts for national and regional group purchasing organizations (GPO’s).

  • Maintains current GPO membership in the contracts system and in the order entry system. Insures the memberships are current and accurate in the system and that the group membership updates are entered in a timely manner.

  • Prepares buying group reference books to be used by the field sales force, including membership lists, pricing, commitment forms, etc.

  • Confirms that the contracts system, the order entry system and the buying group price books are all updated and accurate.

  • Provides sales analysis and administrative support to the Regional/GPO Account Managers. Primary divisional contact for all GPO-related inquiries received from GPO’s, GPO customers and/or C.R. Bard corporate personnel.

  • Provides support to the Contracts Representatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of finance clerical experience or equivalency.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Two (2) year business degree.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of personal computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word).

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to use sound business judgment and to work with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
