BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Contracts Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah
Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining either a specific contract portfolio or the buying group contracts portfolio within the guidelines established by management. Incumbent provides accurate and timely contract and sales information to divisional management, regional/national accounts managers and corporate personnel. Incumbent is responsible for administering and monitoring the corporate and divisional pricing strategies and guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Group Contracts Representative:
Generates and maintains all aspects of VAD contracts, including new contracts, renewals, addenda and bids.
Researches and resolves all pricing disputes.
Develops sales and profit/loss analysis as requested by the sales force, VAD management, VAD customers and corporate sales personnel.
Generates and maintains a portfolio of buying group contracts for national and regional group purchasing organizations (GPO’s).
Maintains current GPO membership in the contracts system and in the order entry system. Insures the memberships are current and accurate in the system and that the group membership updates are entered in a timely manner.
Provides support to the Local Contracts Representatives as needed.
Knowledge & Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in use of personal computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Access, Qlik).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to use sound business judgment and to work with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
This position requires:
- Two (2) years of proven contracting administration or financial operations experience .
Preferred qualifications include:
- Two (2) year business degree.
The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.
This position is in an office and laboratory environment and requires the incumbent to sit, stand and perform general office functions. The incumbent may also be required to lift up to twenty five pounds occasionally. The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
