Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.
Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
This position responds to both internal and external customers' clinical and technical inquiries. The incumbent also acts as an internal consultant for other departments and product teams, and participates in the complaint process.
Essential job Functions:

Responds to clinical or technical inquiries by phone, fax or letter in a timely and professional manner (within 24 hours as able.)
Provides Field Assurance with clinical support in resolving customer complaints within required timeframes.
Identifies clinical concerns with accounts and coordinates with District and Territory Managers and others as needed to resolve them.
Assists with developing response to legal interrogatories
Provides input to product teams, as required.
Provides clinical support to all investigational and marketed device studies undertaken by BAS, as needed.
Participates in the Design Review of new and/or modified devices, as requested.
Reviews labeling for clinical clarity and correctness, as requested.
Consults with other departments when a health care professional’s viewpoint is needed.
Determines MDR status of each complaint.
Reviews all complaint files at closure for accuracy and writes evaluation letters to customers as needed.
Performs literature reviews as requested and summarizes information for management.
Reviews and provides input to Corporate SOPs on complaint handling and updates BAS SOPs as necessary.
Provides clinical and technical support to the Clinical Education Manager and the Marketing Department.
Develops responses to Regulatory Authorities including FDA and Competent Authorities internationally.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah.
Two to three (2-3) years acute care hospital and nutritional support or IV therapy experience or equivalency.
Strong communication and customer interface skills.
Ability to work to established deadlines for completion of tasks, reports, responses and projects.
Preferred qualifications include:
- IV therapy and oncology experience.
The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of vascular access devices, IV therapy, nursing process, and national standards of care.
In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
Good organizational skills.
