BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Sr. Supplier Management Leader in San Antonio, Texas
Job Description SummaryThis role is responsible for ensuring that the procurement systems and processes are appropriately developed and deployed, and that current processes meet the requirements and needs of both internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly visible role upon which many Procurement associates and functional stakeholders are dependent. This role ensures that the wider global procurement team is essentially set up for success when it relates to processes, tools and governance needed to meet the goals and objectives.
This role is responsible for the continuous improvement of the category and supplier management process, which is essentially the backbone of the Global Procurement organization and therefore, could impact the functional effectiveness. This role will also partner with BD’s sales & marketing teams for accurate supplier data reporting to key BD customers. This role will also drive any relevant Procurement Policy updates that could impact global procurement associates as well as other functions that directly or indirectly engage in the source to pay process.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Procurement Effectiveness, the Sr.Supplier Management Leaderhas accountability for the following areas: End to end Category Management Process Excellence including supplier management, supplier data coordination, Supplier Diversity reporting and process improvement, relevant policy responsibilities, audit support and other programs & initiatives.
In collaboration with other Procurement leaders, theSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill identify opportunities and address gaps in processes, programs and technologies, and either leads or contributes to implementation projects. The role will also act as the process owner for supplier management processes within Category Management Process, with special focus on Value delivery, Supplier management effectiveness and governance.
TheSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill be responsible for deploying and managing change for major elements of relevant programs, ultimately handing off to operational groups once fully established, and monitoring the continuing effectiveness of existing solutions. Deployment and change management will require a strong ability to influence others that may not be in the immediate sphere of influence.
TheSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill be the primary liaison from Procurement with Supplier Quality and Sustainability and ensure that the quality and sustainability objectives are integrated into the category strategies and supplier management programs.
In collaboration with the Risk Leader and Supplier Diversity Leader, theSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill also ensure strategic integration of the risk and supplier diversity programs into the BD category management and supplier management processes. TheSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill be responsible for supplier diversity reporting to key customer accounts, government agencies and other internal and external stakeholders.
TheSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill also be the primary liaison with TGS Business Partner and support the technology roadmap and initiatives.
ThisSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill also manage any Procurement-owned policy updates and reviews and supports relevant internal audits to ensure actions are completed as needed from Procurement
Additionally, theSr. Supplier Management Leaderwill coordinate with other Functions where projects are cross-functional, and with the Global Process Leader and the Global Shared Service Center to ensure that Procurement’s strategies and policies are implemented in BDX.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Education/Degree:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
Proficient in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier management
Category Management, SRM and Supplier Management Strategies and Tactics
Proficient in change management best practices.
Communication
Strong business analytics
Working and influencing within a highly matrixed organization
Strategic agility and business acumen
Project management
Working in diverse environments
Minimum 7+ years of experience in Procurement or related field
Strong team player able to work both collaboratively and independently
Ability to work with ambiguity, complexity and under pressure with tight timelines and moving targets
Proficiency in using standard software tools (MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc.
Certifications :
- Certification in supply chain, procurement, project management or equivalent is considered a plus.
