The mission of the US Region Commercial Operations Team is to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth by exceeding customer needs and improving customer experience in the areas of contracting, sales operations, business analytics and operational excellence. Reporting to the Associate Director MMS Dispensing Capital Contracting, the Contacts & Compliance Manager manages the aspects of BD’s Medication Management Solution (MMS) Contract processing/execution known as RISCC / TIE with a team of six direct reports. This Managerial role will help support our sales team as well as cross functional internal teams by ensuring team members accurately review and audit all executed contracts that have been submitted to confirm all necessary deal components have been received and are correct. This position must ensure that all risk is mitigated, approvals are in place and that we are in line with all legal and governing SOX controls prior to finalizing contracts. As a Manager of MMS Dispensing RISCC/TIE, responsibilities include developing and maintaining talent through effective coaching and feedback.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the analysts’ day-to-day processing of RISCC / TIE requests, especially during reporting periods.

  • Provide assistance to the analysts’ on complex deals.

  • Proactively manage escalations and monitor the RISCC / TIE queues to ensure contracts are meeting or exceeding department turnaround standards.

  • Run and send the Pending RISCC / TIE report to the Sales team weekly to track and report on pending contract activities and deal elements.

  • Interact and proactively communicate with the MMS Dispensing Sales team on a daily basis to manage the complete contract process of customer signed quotations: Masters, Customer Orders, Customer Order Attachments, Credit Underwriting, POs, and Implementation Timelines along with all financial approvals and the appropriate accounting reserves.

  • Support and work alongside senior management on process improvement projects (templates, standard terms, system updates, etc.) to drive operational efficiencies and standardization.

  • Knowledge of the post-signature capital contract processes including installation, billing/revenue management and maintenance of equipment and how each post-execution process is affected by pre-signature contract negotiations.

  • Coordinate complete contract deal activities and ensure smooth handover with post-deal team counterparts for successful customer relationship, billing and collection activities.

  • Proactively manage and prioritize work within a six person team (direct reports) to successfully execute on daily operations in a timely manner.

  • Work with the Revenue Recognition team on more complex contracts needed for review under their guidelines as well as understanding any reserves that need to be entered.

  • Ensure that the analysts have a profound understanding of the financial analysis on RISCC complete deals to confirm that the deal is consistent with and in line with business approvals.

  • Knowledge of all product lines and any necessary terms and conditions that must accompany them.

  • Understanding of US Antitrust laws, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, Internal Audit, regulatory controls, and business strategy.

  • General understanding of operating lease arrangements for capital equipment, and common revenue recognition guidelines and accounting principles.

  • Participate in departmental goal-setting and see through to completion.

  • Maintaining up-to-date and current knowledge of system and transactional procedures, product offerings, applicable policies and procedures, SOX controls, required business approval levels (MAM), and marketing programs.

  • Maintain and update the QA RISCC / TIE checklist.

  • Support field team in contract-related items and supporting analysis.

  • Aim to protect BD interests (margin, risk, policy, etc.), escalating as needed to all levels of management cross-functionally.

  • Ensure that risk is mitigated and regulations are appropriately addressed consistently across all business offerings prior to transaction RISCC/TIE.


Education & Experience

  • High school degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Quoting or Contracting for Capital equipment, or a BA/BS (preferred) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Quoting or Contracting for Capital equipment.

  • 2 plus years’ experience in People Management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong proficient with MS Excel (formulas, VLOOKUPS, pivot tables required.

  • Proven experience working with SAP CRM and ECC modules strongly preferred.

  • Experience with SalesForce preferred.

  • Ability to successfully communicate internally and externally, manage complexity and make independent recommendations

  • Possess a strategic mindset to drive complex alignment and deliver results.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively pre and post deal teams to address any questions or issues that may arise when auditing/processing a completed RISCC package.
