Job Description Summary

The Demand and Supply planner is responsible / accountable for the overall demand and supply management process for MMS Dispensing. This position works closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Regional/Global Supply Chain Partners to achieve targeted forecast and service performance levels for the US region.

This position owns the Demand Review, Supply Review and the Integrated Reconciliation activities for MMS Dispensing for the US region. Acts as the co-facilitator for the Management Business Review as part of the SIOP (Sales Inventory and Operations Planning) process. Works directly with key stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, etc.) and sponsors monthly Demand and Supply Consensus meetings. Ensures business exceptions from these meetings are defined and escalated for decision making through the Demand and Supply Reviews, and further to the MBR as appropriate.

Business integration, project management

  • Provide project leadership across demand and supply planning, operations transformation and systems integration to support the integration of a newly acquired business

  • Assess and document business processes through value stream mapping. Identify pain points and gaps. Develop and implement optimized flows and processes

  • Develop a streamlined integration roadmap and act as a strategic driver to execute key activities within each integration phase

  • Evaluate interpersonal readiness in advance of transition events and effectively define approach, tools and processes that will be used to successfully support transition events

  • Work collaboratively with the Core team leaders to ensure that standard toolkits and methodologies are being adopted; proactively recommend changes and improvements to existing processes

  • Create and develop consolidated program milestones, interdependencies and communication plans as well as dashboards to monitor integration status

  • Successfully complete the integration of the newly acquired business as a platform within MMS Dispensing and transition into the Demand and supply Planning manager for the platform.

The incumbent will be required to exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Ability to build a business case/scenario to support supply chain proposals. Understand how to create, read and comprehend complex business reports and analysis.

  • Monitors and supports all supply chain metrics performance, recommends corrective actions and strategies as the need arises.

Demand and Supply Management

  • Participates in Regional Demand Reviews and/or Inter-regional Supply Reviews to aggregate forecasts and ensure alignment with business strategies.

  • Track orders to forecast and identify/mitigate key gaps with Channel management and Sales

  • Lead long term planning activities with our manufacturing partners, develop supply plans to drive capacity and materials to support internal and external manufacturing

  • Work closely with our suppliers, provide vendor forecast and purchase agreements to ensure business continuity

  • Handle exceptions caused by significant, unexpected events in sales, operations and procurement

  • Participant for new product introductions or product discontinuation projects in support of inventory target levels, service levels, and manufacturing efficiencies.

  • Execute to SKU rationalization roadmap

  • Identify and report on any significant variances between forecasted sales and the organization’s budget and business plan

  • Key contributor to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.

  • Facilitate Regional Supply Consensus and Review meetings.

  • Develop analysis and reports related to inventory level projections, recovery plans, capacity requirements, performance metrics, etc. as required.

  • Maintain alignment of inventory levels to achieve targeted service levels, backorder incidence/duration and DIO. Identifies and pursues inventory reduction opportunities. Directs the periodic review and disposition of slow moving and unproductive inventories (Excess & Obsolete, Unscheduled, Expired, cancelled/residual Test & Holds etc.).

  • Participant in yearly budgeting process, especially for establishment of yearly demand/production volumes.

  • Responsible for managing Finished Goods and Raw Material to meet inventory targets and DIOH for the region

  • Key owner of the back order and order fulfillment metrics

  • Evolve and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand supply planning processes and systems.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency with statistical and forecasting methods

  • Solid knowledge of Supply Chain procedures (Demand/Supply/Production Planning, capacity leveling, product deployment and inventory control)

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment coordinating multi-discipline activities

  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)

  • Customer Focus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation are required

  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task

  • Familiarity with an ERP and MRP systems and common software applications a must

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Skills in project management, including the use of Microsoft Project or other common project management software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related degree.

  • Extensive experience with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of integrated Supply Chain Systems (e.g. SAP ECC, MRP).

  • Minimum of 5 years analytics and/or planning experience required.

  • APICS CPIM certification and SAP knowledge preferred.

  • Knowledge and awareness of Lean techniques and Six Sigma a plus.
