BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Global Market Insights Manager - Dispensing in San Diego, California
Job Description Summary
This position will be responsible for generating commercial insights and modeling that will drive the identification of growth opportunities (revenue, category share and profit growth) for the BD MMS Dispensing Platform, primarily through market research and related analytics. The scope will encompass the strategic analysis of industry, customer, and competitive trends that ensure the dispensing platform teams are kept abreast of important trends and to make fact-based business decisions to drive profitable growth globally. In addition, these insights and analyses will inform strategic, marketing, and new product development planning activities.
This role will work closely with regional commercial teams and global marketing as well as with customers, industry stakeholders and consultants.
Develop and demonstrate an expertise in acute care and non-acute care pharmacy operations, including automation and workflows, clinical standards, and best practice initiatives.
Proactively gather, analyze, and communicate fact-based market insights on existing products and those in development, as well as information on BD MMS competition, customers and trends affecting the global platform using the latest primary and secondary research methods.
Implement research plans as needed to inform strategic planning, portfolio planning, and commercial planning including briefings and working with agencies.
Synthesize complex sets of data to build insights that will help to predict market dynamics and to guide marketing/commercial strategies
Drive commonality of research processes, methodology and programs across the platform to drive consistency and synergies.
Foster a “customer centric culture” by championing the interdependence of strategic decisions and financial success empowered by fact-based, customer and market insights.
Partner with marketing and business leaders to drive their marketing, business and go-to-market strategies through the assimilation and embedding of fact-based insights.
Serve as the primary liaison for the platform with corporate, segment, business and regional level strategic insight teams/professionals.
Establish/maintain a network of highly qualified market and industry segment experts/vendors and oversee engagement and interactions with these resources to align their work activities to meet the business' needs
BS or BA degree in business or technical discipline, an MBA or advanced degree preferred.
8-10 years of experience in market research, marketing, or commercial excellence with at least two years in healthcare, preferably in medication management, healthcare automation or healthcare IT.
Demonstrated mastery of various primary and secondary market research methods to uncover data-driven insights as well as use of several analytic techniques.
Superior ability to turn analysis into insight and to think strategically

Strong team member able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and work extremely well with complex multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management, planning, execution, time management and “follow-through.”
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 50%
