*Full-time home-based remote position with regional travel. Ideal candidate will have clinical pharmacy experience and reside near a major US airport in the Central and East Regions *

The Implementation Consultant, Pyxis Logistics Implementation (IC) is a collaborative member of the cross-functional project team responsible for the implementation of BD Pyxis Pharmacy Automation products. The IC’s demonstrated expertise in clinical and technical aspects of Pyxis Pharmacy Automation products enhances the credibility of recommendations to Pharmacy, and Information Technology partners. The IC executes the implementation phase of the project. They also are a primary resource to support the customer go live with the BD Pyxis Pharmacy Automation product.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

  • Technical - 85% - Configuration of equipment, communication/troubleshooting with Hospital IT regarding network, IP Address, Firewalls, etc. Workflow design, Pharmacy policy/procedure definition, customer training, go live support to ensure a successful implementation.

  • Mentoring/Peer Support – 5%

  • Project Management - 5% - Meetings, planning, communication, documentation

  • Administrative activity - 5%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Communication:

  • Facilitation of conference calls and customer meetings for BD Pharmacy Automation implementations.

  • Establish rapport with customers that is conducive to a long-term business relationship.

  • Provide team support and product information on BD Pharmacy Automation products as assigned by manager.

  • Must be able to manage complex customer teams, gain consensus within teams and deliver concise and consistent communication.

Technical:

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of pharmacy/clinical workflow processes, hospital & pharmacy system integration, clinical device settings, interface connectivity, user account role design, active directory.

  • Demonstrate expertise of established BD Pharmacy Automation products, implementation methodologies and tools or equivalent industry standards.

  • Ability to interact and guide diverse cross-functional teams.

  • Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and the ability to implement complex multi-site projects consistent with established company and customer objectives.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and ability to aid customers in improving current business/practice operations.

  • Demonstrates advanced problem solving, troubleshooting and system consultation as it relates to pharmacy workflow and best practice considerations and health system standardization.

  • Install and support BD Pharmacy Automation software and hardware.

  • Mentor team members on products, best practices, and customer education.

  • Expected to function as a customer support resource when necessary.

Administrative:

  • Coordinate client resources and assign project tasks while onsite.

  • Ability to actively lead projects when required.

  • Works independently.

  • Timely completion of internal company documentation.

  • Timely completion of project documentation.

  • Possess excellent organizational skills with the flexibility to readily adapt to change.

Education, Experience or Equivalent:

  • Pharmacy Technician – licensed/certified

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and work experience.

  • 3 years of acute care hospital pharmacy clinical experience and/or in healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.

  • Pharmacy buyer experience

  • Expertise in pharmacy workflow.

  • Software implementation experience required, preferably in healthcare applications/robotics

  • Workflow design, process improvement methodologies strongly preferred

  • Expertise in HIS/PIS systems, Epic, Cerner and Meditech.

  • Dispensing software technology experience a plus. Must have a working knowledge of a variety of software applications, such as BD Pharmacy Automation products, and exposure to solution design processes.

Other requirements:

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting.

  • Travel may range from 60% - 80%, overnight travel.

  • Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends.

  • Ability to work independently from home office.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.

  • Must meet all vendor credentialing requirements, including vaccinations.
