The Senior Consultant Professional Services (Senior CPS) is a collaborative member of the cross-functional project team responsible for the implementation of BD Pyxis IV Prep . Its duties include project management governance, product/solution implementation, workflow assessment, system design, configuration and validation, integration engineering functions and general customer relationship and partnering activities.

The Senior CPS’s demonstrated expertise in clinical and technical aspects of Medication Management Systems enhances the credibility of recommendations to Pharmacy, Nursing, and Information Technology stakeholders. The Senior CPS gathers goals and requirements for the system to facilitate effective guidance of the customer during solution design, validation processes, and the design and delivery of an effective customer training plan. The Senior CPS effectively performs the required tasks to ensure timely Go-Lives and customer satisfaction. The Senior CPS serves as mentor to other internal team members. The Senior CPS participates in pre-contract support activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and provides GCS readiness support.

This is a remote position with assigned responsibilities primarily in a geographically defined territory (Eastern and Central United States). However, based on account or project needs, could be assigned outside of the territory or region. Travel may range from 60% - 80%, overnight travel included. Position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends Ability to work independently from home office. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

  • Conveys a positive image of BD to Customers.

  • Effectively creates, customizes and delivers presentations, both in person and via remote meeting technologies.

  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to influence others in favor of a position and demonstrate excellent consensus-building strategies

  • Strong communicator with effective verbal and written skills.

  • Demonstrates effective consultative professional skills and practices as measured by positive customer feedback.

  • Facilitates solution design and implementation of BD Medication Systems Dispensing products, solutions, and technologies.

  • Demonstrates industry knowledge and provides design consultation and support for hospital pharmacy/clinical workflow processes.

  • Guides the customer in activities designed to achieve standardization across large/extra-large hospital level health systems, and to improve efficiency of current business/practice operations through adoption of best practices.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in product feature/functionality and operational knowledge of core BD MMS Dispensing products and solutions.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and complies with established BD MMS Dispensing product implementation methodologies and tools or equivalent industry standards.

  • Effectively leads presale discussions with Sales, PMO and customer, in support of the SCOPE process.

  • Provides Sales pre-contract support

  • Effectively conducts team product training and on-boarding of new associates. Serves as Extended Core Team member, providing Implementation Readiness & Dev Ops Support.

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and the development of tools for the advancement of the Professional Services consultant community.

  • Must be detail oriented, and able to deal with multiple projects and competing demands consistent with established company and customer objectives.

  • Consistently demonstrates administrative discipline including strong time management skills and the ability to maintain numerous priorities while meeting established deadlines, goals and objectives.

  • Complies with all vendor credentialing requirements including COVID vaccinations.

  • Demonstrates analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-motivated; works independently with minimal supervision. Takes initiative to establish and meet goals and objectives.

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills with the flexibility to readily adapt to change.

  • Manages their responsibilities within the allotted T&E expense budget.

  • Complies with company policies and procedures; including BD policy on drug-free workplace Reports complaints and enhancement requests regarding BD products and service per BD company policy

  • Maintains confidential information including BD proprietary information

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a healthcare related field.

  • Clinical Certification (active or expired) and/or HIT background desired.

  • 10 or more years in healthcare industry with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.

Professional License/Certifications preferred:

  • Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Informaticist

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise in HIS/PIS systems and pharmacy workflow.

  • Recent IV room experience required. Familiarity with sterile compounding best practices and USP <797> and <800> is an absolute requirement. Board certification in sterile compounding preferred.

  • Dispensing software technology implementation experience a strong plus.

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote).

  • Exposure to clinical software applications expected, including BD Medication Systems Dispensing products.

  • Recent, relevant consulting experience preferred. Experience with large/extra-large health systems required.

  • Excellent communication and presentations skills, both written and verbal, are required for interaction with all levels of management and peers

  • Must be able and willing to travel 60% - 80%, overnight travel included.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. This position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting
