Our MMS Pyxis business is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced Senior Manager to own the delivery and sustain the Vanguard ES Software Platform. Our Product Ownership team is involved throughout the product development lifecycle. From concept definition & conceptualization, to feature grooming and user story refinement, to ensuring readiness and doneness through to product implementation and launch. Ultimately, the team has accountability for ensuring R&D solves our greatest customer problems as a team.

As a Senior Manager of Product Ownership, you will lead, mentor, and guide a team of Product Owners and utilize your functional expertise to provide direction and support as part of cross-functional product development management team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers and all relevant parties to support Product Ownership responsibilities. Advise business owners on product roadmap and release scope definition as needed.

  • Represent and advocate for Product Ownership needs in R&D program meetings and coordinate with R&D project management to optimize team participation in early conceptualization phase usability studies and formal late phase simulated use validation activities.

  • Champion a highly collaborative approach to solving functional problems, encouraging inclusivity of multiple perspectives from both internal & external customer partners to generate innovative solutions.

  • Track issues that detrimentally impact efficiency and advance to senior R&D management as needed.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with the capabilities of all products and related features within the team’s domain to guide approaches to solving complex issues.

  • Proactively identify and mentor outstanding talent, internally and externally, to scale the team to the needs of the organization.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably mechanical and/or electrical, computer science or related field required.

  • A minimum of 5+ years related work experience, with at least 4 years in functional management of 4+ individuals and at least 2 years within software product development.

  • Experience with product & feature business valuation, scoping and planning activities preferred.

  • Experience leading multiple product owners supporting more than one agile product development team preferred.

  • Experience with healthcare information technology systems, and/or acute care hospital medication management domain preferred.

  • Experience in product ownership, requirements analysis, business analysis, or healthcare product implementation preferred.

  • Ability to travel (up to approximately 10% post-covid) required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable of all phases of the software product development life cycle; proven efficiency with agile methodologies.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communications.

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with proven track record of leading robust teams.

  • Ability to translate agile methodologist from the industry and champion support and adoption.
