As the Senior Manager of Software Quality Engineering, you will lead, coach and mentor our test team and be responsible for the technical direction and overall quality of testing hosted and on-premise software products. You will create and implement a vision for testing as a primary component of defect identification and resolution with a heavy focus on tooling and automation.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

  • Define, promote and implement the strategic direction of test automation and an overall approach to testing within the department.

  • Drive process improvements in the organization to reduce the overall defect rate and increase testing efficiency.

  • Build standard methodologies and departmental guidelines for testing methods in collaboration with peer test managers.

  • Create repeatable methods to assess, measure and communicate the overall quality of a project and deliver key metrics to assess the overall effectiveness of the test engineering group

  • Facilitate collaboration between software engineering, business partners, project management and quality engineering groups.

  • Amplify the talents of the current team and attract, hire, and retain outstanding talent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

To be a successful candidate, you will be a professional who is, or has been, a test manager for a company that develops enterprise-class software applications and has led a geographically dispersed team of 10 or more test engineers. You will have strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead a team towards organizational objectives.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering field

  • 15+ years of software test experience including 5+ years of developing test automation routines and 5+ years of managing test engineers

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies

  • Experience working with globally distributed teams

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with scripting and automation languages and toolsets (Selenium, Coded UI or other)

  • Experience working in a regulated environment is a plus
