Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team in designing and implementing new products within the Automation and Analytics group at BD. This role will be responsible for developing embedded software applications for medical devices and automated systems used in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience with C/C++ programming languages and familiarity with object-oriented development. A successful candidate should also possess strong problem solving skills, as well as being able to work independently or collaboratively with other members of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and debug complex software applications for medical device products

  • Develop code using C/C++ programming language

  • Utilize object-oriented development techniques

  • Work closely with cross functional teams such as Mechanical Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance etc., to ensure that all aspects of product development are considered when designing software solutions

  • Troubleshoot issues found during testing phases

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations

  • Maintain documentation related to software development processes and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline required; Master’s preferred but not required

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing embedded software applications for medical devices or similar products

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming language

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented development principles

  • Experience working with microcontroller based hardware platforms

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand design requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle including Requirements Specification, Design Documentation, Code Review etc.,

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Salary Range Information

$79,000.00 - $130,400.00 USD Annual
